Wow, I know someone who has a severe case of Asperger's Syndrome. That definitely doesn't go with a personality disorder. However, are you sure it's Asperger's? Maybe you're just really in a slump. Best of luck man, I hope you can climb out of this slump quickly.
Sry to hear man, be careful with the xanex. Most people build a quick tolerance for it and start to increase their dosage drastically. I been taking it responsibly for 3 years; it is meant to be taken on a temporary basis though. Definitely be careful with lexapro as well obviously. My suggestion is to find things to keep you active when negative thoughts start taking over on some days. I suggest running/exercizing to get those endorphins going; if you live in Houston and want a running partner hit me up.
Well I'm glad to hear that you're done with it and want to move on.. that should be your goal.. it's the right move.. and I know its a cliche.. but as time goes by it'll get easier and easier for you... best of luck
Careful with the Xanax, yes, but if you have no prior addictive tendencies, you're probably okay with it. What dose are you taking? You can self-regulate, so long as you're only decreasing it (halving it, quartering, etc). If you start feeling the need to take more, then talk to your doc asap. Benzo addiction is a tough one, so don't play with that. You should really be seeing a psychiatrist when dealing with psychotropic meds....family docs don't have near the experience and training in this area. Be careful with those meds and keep your head up, man. Edit -- Forgot to add: SSRIs like Lexapro aren't addictive, though you can go through withdrawals. SSRIs need to be tapered off or they can cause withdrawal-like side effects. There are many meds that shouldn't be stopped cold-turkey, and most psych meds are like that. The more you know.
Very sorry to hear Manny. It's amazing, we have been on this BBS for so long that I still remember when you were single. Then suddenly you came back and surprised us telling us that you are married. Don't let it get you down. Now is not a good time for you, but the only way is up. Things will get better. Hang in there.
I've known too many people who've taken antidepressants that make me want to never take them. Have you considered a short vacation to some place quiet?
