Haven't been following a whole lot of football lately, but was wondering what people thought of these 2 scenarios, and which one,if any,was more likely to happen. [1] McNabb starting for the Titans this season. [2] Young signing on with the Eagles to be the backup once Kolb is traded.
Kerry Collins Retires: The Price for Matt Hasselbeck Just Went Up Seattle reportedly offered Hasselbeck $7 million for one season, but he is looking for a multi-year deal. The Titans gave Collins a two-year contract worth around $15 million when he was of an age similar to Hasselbeck's. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ns-nfl-price-for-matt-hasselbeck-just-went-up
I was hoping Locker would be the starter, but that is becoming less likely with each passing day. If only they hadn't already committed to releasing VY. Hasselbeck would be interesting, since he began under Brett Favre, who Jake Locker has been compared to. Personally, I do not want McNabb. Not that I actually want Hasselbeck either.
Personally, I don't see Philly going after Young. I will see them maybe going after a more traditional pocket passer for a bit of versatility from Vick. Perhaps making a run at Leinart once the lockout is done (similar to Kolb, but not as high on the market). I'm sure that if it were financially feasible to keep Kolb they would, but the Eagles can get much needed help in return in a trade.
I think Philly goes after someone a bit more proven than Leinart. Unless the refs start tightening up on hits against Vick, you have to have more faith in your backup than someone like Leinart. I'd say Hasselbeck, but I'm guessing very few teams would offer him a multi year deal.
I figure Vince has to go somewhere where he can start or at least get a shot at starting....he still thinks he's going to revolutionize the position, and that's not going to happen holding a clipboard.
It would be pretty entertaining to watch the drama come from a Vince Young/QB, Brandon Marshall/WR, Ricky Williams/RB at the skill positions. They actually have a shot with a competent QB that can stay consistent throughout the season. Henne was up and down with his game and confidence. The one thing VY actually hasn't lost much of, change of scenery would do well for his career re-vamping.
I don't think VY is going anywhere. I don't think any NFL team wants him and his NFL career is over. He should have never been drafted as high as he was and Bud Adams really goofed on that one, but he did it to stick it to Houston and he failed.
I strongly disagree... and I absolutely hate Vince Young (I went to OU). I don't know how he does it, but Young always seems to pull games out of his ass somehow. He has been doing it at least since college. Sure his stats aren't great, but the guy can pull out some amazing plays. Don't get me wrong though, I wouldn't want him on the Texans
I don't think he's that far down the pit to be a back up. Though it sounds nice... he would never get any PT unless Schaub got injured. Wouldn't help his situation either... he needs a change of scenery and a new coach.
We also play Pittsburgh, and I don't think VY wants any chance at getting the confidence corkscrewed outta him again.
My predictions: VY - Vikings (QB coach has worked with him before) McNabb - Dolphins Kolb - Cardinals Leinhart - Seahawks (Pete Carroll) Hasselbeck - titans I could see VY going to the Raiders as well. (moes falls in a faint)
