Are Jordan and Dream friends off the court? I'm under the impression that Jordan hates everyone that's not in his team.
There was a theory that Jordan makes a lot friends off the court, so they can't play like Jordan is their enemy. Isiah Thomas is an exemption though. They truly hate each other on and off the court. Isiah wasn't on dream team one because of that.
Who cares if its old news? I'd never seen it before. Some things deserve to get bumped or reposted every once in awhile. Anything regarding Olajuwon is included.
Sometimes I just wonder what would happen if Dream Team have both MJ and Isiah. And then Hakeem have his citizenship while Shaq was selected ahead of Laettner.
Of course, if Jordan had said any other center, the clutchfans inferiority complex woulda kicked into high gear. But we beat him in the regular season so we must have won in a playoffs matchup derp! Yea just like how the Jazz beat the Bulls 3-1 in the regular seasons and lost two championships to them lol.
Not that I don't think Hakeem is great, but how can anyone take Jordan seriously as a talent evaluator? Kwame Brown says hi.
He also said the same thing in a Slam Magazine interview a few years ago (one of their jordan commerative issues) when asking if he was to create a dream team himself who his starting 5 would be. He mentioned Hakeem and defended his pick basically saying Hakeem played in arguably the best era of centers and kicked all their butts.
I think that has been talked about constantly here. It's the truth. Talent evaluator is different from performance evaluator. He talks about Hakeem based off of Dream's accomplishments, not what he "can" do. Two totally different things.
Re-emphasizing this again recently. Starts at 4:52 <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/SRvNz2TdAPM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I have heard the quote about Hakeem a lot of times. But I have never seen that video. Nice find! When did he talk about that?
It's interesting and surprising to me to hear him say that, honestly. Guy has a massive ego (obviously), and naming Hakeem there would weaken his claim to "what could have been" for him, in our 2 years. Love seeing the respect.
