I'm surprised more people aren't falling over the pathetic low guardrails. Just a little accidental trip over someone's foot and you could be a goner if you're tall.
I read that Hamilton busted some dude's face open with a foul ball the very next game and the fan required stitches... question though: did they complete the game the day of the fan's death?
I brought this up earlier but the building code allows them to build low rails like that on bleachers. The reasoning is that a higher rail will block sight lines. Personally it seems to me like that this could be remedied by mandating the use of clear barriers or netting. Unfortunately this will only change if there are more accidents like this.
More like: Don't have a 20-foot drop to unprotected concrete. Seems like covering the tunnel would be the easiest solution.

Very nice of the Rangers organization to do. If I was that young kid, I don't think I'd ever want to be near any baseball field again due to that memory. I think they were hoping that last WS run would buy them another 20 years at least.
