According to the report, Chuck Hayes said drugs destroyed both of Francis' knees? It's hard to see how those two would be related, and this wouldn't be the first time Chinese media has manufactured news or misconstrued quotes.

Yeah I wondered about that too. I believe the conversation did take place but there could be things lost in translation. The reporters don't hear spoken English daily, after all.

Yao is retired, we no longer have to pay any attention to what the Chinese media says.

In fact, any story coming from that nation of journalistic integrity should probably be automatically banned. :)

Who cares? He is still richer than any of you guys. All he might be tripping about is his legacy. Which he still leaves behind a decent one. I dont go on forever trashing our former players. Respect Tmac, Yao, and Francis for the things they did while they were here. You can blast them when they are here and not doing well. When they are gone? Get over it and treat our former players with class.

No offense but I do not trust any news that comes from China, they always have crazy reports. I'm not doubting the addiction of Stevie though.

how can you be a drug addict in the nba ?? wouldn't you get popped with a drug test ??

that "bird man" guy from denver got suspended for a whole year because he smoked pot and failed a drug test.

Are we talking about Yao or Steve? Steve may had made millions in the Nba, but im sure his debt is currently higher than his income. I am also sure there are people on this board that are in a wealthier state than he is.

As for his legacy, he doesn't have one. He fell off at the timein his career where it would begin.

lol man, mar1juana is never called dope nowadays, and if it is, it would be by someone completely removed from the drug culture.

    Dope is heroin.

The guy made over 100 millions dollars in the NBA, He even said he played in China for the Money, A website may be able to tell what a person is worth, but only him and his accountant knows whats real. Half of the players in the NBA debt-to-asset ratio is totally out of control, Regardless of how much they are worth

You know who else did drugs? George Bush Jr. and your current President and the one before both of them. :)
