Let me be clear, I will miss Yao, but I will not miss some of his deranged admirers who clogged up this forum with their hero worship.

Heck, this site has been going strong since the 1990's... Long before Yao Ming. Before McGrady. Before Steve Francis... Still remember the Pippen breaking news here!!! And this site I think has crashed several times back then with so many people.

Yao was a good player; my my what could have been if both him and McGrady stayed healthy - both are still 30 years old... It should have been the Rockets in the Finals against the Heat. But that's life.

The thing is that the trio of Yao/McGrady/Battier experiment has officially come to an end.

For better or for worse, it's time to move forward without anticipating Yao's return.

The Rockets will lose Yao followers; it's a given. But if Yao still stays in a high capacity with the Rockets; such as Yao as an assistant coach???? Uhmmmm....

I havent. I left Houston in November of 2006 and still support the Rockets. Yao was the main reason, and even despite his injuries, I kept buying league pass because I got a chance to be fan of a great organization that hire smart people. Now I have my Hawks: The 125 million dollar man, J-Crazy, and Al "the robot" Horford, and a franchise ran by a bunch of morons.

80% of the YOF already left.

We've been dropping buckets of fairweather fans after missing the playoffs twice in a row and finding ourselves without a single All Star.

I'm looking forward to the GARM becoming readable again.

I really hope the Chinese fans don't leave Clutchfans en masse. They brought an interesting perspective and interesting stuff from Sina and other sources. Part of why this is the best basketball site out there.

How do we get rid of the other guys? Do we need the Deceptions to open up a portal or something?

This would be a smart move on their part to keep Yao involved somehow. Yao may just want to do nothing but be with family and play video games. Maybe TNT can sign him to join Charles and Kenny. Hey, never say never to him coming out of retirement.

If there is a winning product on the court they won't lose any fans.
