Sorry to hear. I was really hoping for him to make a comeback and finish off his career with a few healthy years.
I'm hurting so bad right....I honestly felt like Yao was gonna replace Shaq as the new Big Man of the NBA's next generation of stars. When I moved to houston in 2001, I only had two or three stations that weren't fuzzy and snowed out. After basketball season began, I was in heaven. Watching Stevie, Cat Mobley, and this new 7'6 import from China made Houston home for me and I haven't missed but a couple of games since. Live goes on, I moved back to Atlanta, but refused to give up my support for the Rockets---no matter how much backlash I got from my fellow Atliens...But every year since I've been home, Yao has gotten hurt. I feel like a chick talking about the guy she never had a chance to have a relationship with. So teased....Nevertheless, Yao was a consumate professional, and had a work ethic that shows he will succeed in whatever he does. Well Wishes....
Wonder why he retired without saying why?? I mean there is plenty of time to heal especially with the lockout. I don't get it...but whatever. I am back to being a KINGS FAN
We all saw this coming, but good luck Yao on your future endeavors and you'll always be missed .....what could've been.......
Damn... Well, we can all finally move on; No more speculation. We finally know the organization is not going to use him as a crutch going forward.
So sad that Yao's injuries robbed him from having a HOF career. Who knows what might of happened if he and T-Mac could have stayed healthy for a couple of seasons while they were together. Or even if Yao stayed healthy during the playoff series with the Lakers. Regardless, he was a joy to watch when he was healthy and I am grateful that he was a Rocket. Thank you Yao for so many great memories.
