that website also says the 2010-2011 lakers would beat both the 93-94 and the 94-95 rockets, so fu*k them.

Let me think about this trade for a second. Instead of Payton it would be your 5th round pick.

I'll decline the trade by Icandunkonyao.

That trade would only allow me to move up 7 spots from round 8 to round 7.

You would have to offer me at least the 6th round pick and 5th rounder for Paul and an 8th rounder.

just an FYI but when a trade is in progress each team must end up with 8 players meaning all trades should be even.

ICanDunkOnYao should still be on the clock

The brackets end up with 3 teams in the championship round and then we can all vote on the winner, but will there be a poll on the winner of each round?

How about 5th Round, 7th Round, and swapping 6th round picks? If not, I pick Elvin Hayes C/PF

Let's leaving the trading out of this mock draft. One bad trade can mess up this whole draft plus this is taking way too long as it is.

you chose the wrong Johnson, imo. Kevin Johnson would have been a much better pick. If you are going to best season route, KJ is a guy who had a 20 ppg, 12 apg, 4.6 rpg season while shooting over 50% from the field and close to 90% from the line. Oh yeah, and he was a pesky defender who put up 1.7 spg that season.

Maurice Cheeks also would have been a better option at point, imo, though that one is more debateable.

For that matter, and I'm not trying to underrate DJ - he did his job - there are other current points I would take ahead of him. Rose, even if one of the less pectacular MVP seasons, Deron Williams. Rajon Rondo might be the current version of Dennis Johnson, but slightly better.

    So, my current 5 are:

    Oscar Robertson
    Tiny Archibald
    Bob Pettit
    Arvydas Sabonis
    Bob McAdoo

Moving Pettit to SF where he wrecks shop and keeps the other SFs from sniffing a RB. McAdoo is a guy that led the league in PPG three straight years (went for 34.5/14 his best year) and can spread the floor so Pettit can post up. Arvydas moves the defensive centers out from the basket and sets killer picks for Big O and Tiny who are like thunder and lightning in the backcourt.

Defensively, we kind of suck compared to some of the other teams.

If I had been picking the first three instead of knote, I would have gone with a frontcourt emphasis instead of backcourt:

    Wilt
    LeBron
    McHale
    Chris Paul
A SG I hope is there in Round 6 or maybe even 7.

pettit can't play sf, and would get absolutely obliterated defensively against pretty much everyone of the starting sf's people chose. not trying to hate on your team, but two points, two centers, and a power foward playing out of position can't be good.

I think I like where I'm at with Chris Paul. I liked Deron Williams and Kevin Johnson, too, though.

I'll just hope my guy falls to me in the 6th.

Not really my team, though I'm doing the best I can. And I only have 1 center. At his peak, McAdoo was a forward though the Lakers sometimes played him at C when he was older and slower and they wanted to go small.

As for Pettit, anyone that goes for 28/20 can probably stay in front of their man enough to make them shoot jumpers, which is all I'd ask of him.

And yes, I do recognize we have problems defensively.

(I don't really understand what we're doing with these rosters. I'm just trying to pick the best BBall team I can given what I was given.)

really, that's your justification for why he can make someone a jump shooter?
so since wilt, shaq, howard, and other POST players can put up numbers like that as well, they should be able to guard players like wilkins, james, pippen, and erving out on the perimeter too?

We're trying to see if we can put them through a simulator type thing. That seems to be the easiest way of doing it. Otherwise, probably matchup and have clutchfans vote

Look, I came to this late and he was not my pick. That said, he is one of the all-time greats, he's 6'9" and he can score on anybody and board with the best. Nobody can shut down those four you mentioned (Well, James and Pippen you might be able to psych out and get them to stop themselves). The best you can do is play team defense and make them take uncomfortable shots.
