Good episode last night. I've read five of the books, and seems like HBO is taking a different direction with the TV show.
Thought it was ok...very much a soap opera feel. But ill keep watching as my chick-flick concession to my wife if for no other reason. Boobs and fights are a good compromise. Like chuck, I didn't watch ep 2 yet- didn't have that burning desire. Spoiler Tara going lesbian - it fits. She wasn't flexing her Chihuaua School of Acting skills (either shaking or barking), which I was happy with. They need to cut out some story lines and either have characters be together or have them go away. I would cut the panthers and werewolves. I'm thinking huge battle to the death between the two. And the witches stuff. I love layette but he is good as a supporting character.
Yeah it was a lot better. It explained how Bill became king, what he is really about, how the Queen was taken out, and something happens with Eric and with Jason. It helped explain a lot of things that weren't explained in the first episode. The HBO Go thing is pretty badass, I almost watch it more than regular TV. I watched The Sopranos all over again in under a month.
Well, I've watched this long and I will keep watching, regardless. But the first 10 minutes last night made me want to cut my eyeballs out.
Book discussion ahead. Possible spoiler. Spoiler Honestly, the werewolves and panthers are one of the few parts that are still held over from the books. The witch coven is in the books, but in a very different way, especially since Lafayette is dead after book 1. I think Ball has made a big mistake veering so far from the books. There were some really good story lines and characters that I don't see how he can incorporate now. I know some of it was necessary, since he needed storylines for Lafayette, Jason and Tara (who are all MUCH smaller characters in the books), but still: he's going pretty far off the reservation. I hope he knows what he's doing.
Spoiler This is what I feared they would do with Ned on Game of Thrones (keeping a popular character alive, even thought he/she died in the book), but fortunately they've stuck to the source material thus far. It may be too far past gone for True Blood to do that now.
saw the second episode and seeing the shiva run naked in the woods brought a smile to my face so far not too interesting but the ending last night could lead to something good though...i hope
Quick q about HBO Go. Do you know if "Big Love" is on it? I missed the entire final season and can't find it on OnDemand. Also, the season has started off okay, I'm not crazy about anything (But I love seeing my love, Janina Gavankar-aka Shiva from The League, on it).
Yes, they currently have 53 episodes of big love, I think that is the whole series. It starts with the pilot episode.
