You are correct. Most victims of crimes are minorities and not white. It isn't even close and not really a comparison. Whites commit far more crimes than minorities do, but when broken down by percentage blacks commit the most crimes. None of that is totally relevant to the criminal justice system. I'm talking about the FACT that whites who commit the same crimes as blacks, and have the same number of prior convictions get lighter sentences once they are caught than blacks who are caught. Now, if that seems like an OK deal to you, either you don't care about equal justice, or you have a racial preference.
The public backlash will force them to resign -- that was a very winnable case. I knew the DA was in big trouble when I posted this in the OJ thread...
The more I read, the more I see how circumstantial all of the evidence against her was. That's not to say I think she's innocent but there just wasn't any actual evidence to prove anything. Just a terrible job by the DA. This is in spite of the fact that Casey Anthony's attorney acted like a complete bozo the entire trial.
Everyone on tv was applauding the prosecutors right when the trail was over stating the "masterful" work they did presenting the evidence. I didn't see any major screw ups like with the prosecutors in the OJ case.
You are correct. I thought the prosecutors did about as well as they could with the evidence they had. It was always going to be a difficult case with no smoking gun evidence. I also give Casey and her team credit for spinning a tale that the jurors found somewhat believable. It also didn't help that George Anthony appeared to also have trouble telling the truth.
The thing I'm most pissed about is the attention this attention seeking w**** is getting from everyone. I bet you she's loving the fact the whole nation's media is on the trial. I watched most of the trial, even though there were obviously not enough solid evidence to convict her, common sense tells you she's the only one that could've done it. I just wish they had convicted her of manslaughter, child neglect and other lighter charges that will at least put her away for 10+ years.
I hadn't followed this case at all, but after reading over it today, I have to agree. That dude needs to find a new line of work, shameful.
Unless this is some thinly-veiled attempt at being sarcasm (which I think it is), you shouldn't be confused because "the b****" has an antecedent: Casey Anthony.
Casey is one lucky girl, or she didn't do it. With the advances in forensics, to not find any evidence, how can you convict a person of a crime like that? The answer is, you can't.
