The Man from Nowhere (8.5/10) - this is a Korean subtitled flick. It's a cross between Taken and Man on Fire. The movie is better than both of those. The cinematography, action, drama, and acting are top notch. The story is cliched but it's put together really well. You actually feel an emotional attachment to the two main characters. i cut 1.5 points from the rating because i felt it did drag a bit and not too fond of the shaky camera during actions scenes.

Super 8 6/10. Disappointing and enough with the stupid lens flares. Loud noise and things jump out at you throughout the movie just to show Abrahms is not a very capable director.
The Adjustment Bureau 5/10 Just terrible. Terrible interpretation of Philip K. Dick's short story. Totally no creativity.

Cedar Rapids 2/10 - Easily one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time which is shocking considering the cast. Don't even think about wasting your time.

Spread 5/10 - I don't know what to make of this one. Ashton Kutcher and Ann Heche are in it. Heche does a solid job but Kutcher just seems over his head in this role. A better actor would have made it a much better movie I think. The story is about a player who uses women to support himself. Just didn't work for me.

Larry Crowne 7/10 - I was really hesitant to go to see anything with Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks considering how well they know each other. It just comes off as Julia and Tom rather than the roles they're trying to play. Even with that, there are a lot of good laughs in this movie. I expected a crap movie and it was definitely better than that. Hanks plays a Navy retiree who gets fired from his job because he doesn't have a degree so he goes to community college and Julie Roberts is one of his professors. I thought a more interesting movie would have been the Crowne character's interaction with his classmmate and the crew he starts to roll with. I would have enjoyed seeing that developed a lot more.

That's what I thought. It's better than it looks though. I was surprised.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I also enjoyed the flick. In fact, I was surprised at how good the acting job was by Ed Helms.

I forgot Iron Man 2. give it a 6.5 out of 10. i thought Whiplash was weak as a villain. i thought of him more as comic relief than a bad guy.

Transformers 3: 6.5/10...Action alone saves this movie from a lower ranking...it was way too long but otherwise a decent movie...

Battle: LA - 6.5/10. Story was blah, but i thought the action was pretty entertaining.

I am number four - 6.5/10. Again, story was a bit shallow. I assume they would like to explain more in the second one (if it ever gets made). I got the basic idea of it, but there is a low of backstory detail left out. Acting wasn't too horrible. I did think the idea of it all was interesting and had some decent action. I'd give a second one a chance.

I watched the first 10-15 minutes of this and couldn't take it anymore. Skipped to a few parts in the middle and eventually the ending.

    I'd give it 1/10.

Super 8 was a great movie. Almost everyone I talked to has loved it. I have no idea how your standards work.

    Catfish - 8/10

This movie is very hard to explain, but it's a documentary about a guy who shows up to meet a family that he has never met but has been corresponding with for months. Very interesting.

    The Roomate - 4/10

Unintentional humor and Minka Kelly hotness. That's the only reasons to watch this one. Entertaining enough if you have absolutely nothing better to do and are starving for something to watch.

Hey idiot. My rating is on the money. If you want my explanation for it try searching deeper in the Super 8 thread. Go pick on someone who give this movie a 1/10.

    The Hangover 2 - 6/10

Just because there was enough humor to keep it from stinking of putridness and repetitive plot line stupidity. To me, Stu & Mr. Chow helped keep this one afloat. Plus Bangkok is well, Bangkok!
