Good points and you've basically made the argument why NOT to trade him but Lofton was the best leadoff man in the game for a number of years and after he left Cleveland, he basically became a journeyman player. Cameron has something Bourn doesnt, power. So while he lost a step on the basepaths and on defense, his power made up for it.

The biggest difference between those guys and Bourn is the fact they were playing on contenders and those teams where able to use their abilities after they lost a step. With Bourn, who knows how long it will be before the Stros are back? 2014 or 15...he'd be 31 or 32 with a bloated contract?

Hunter Pence has made the all-star team...No Bourn or Wandy.

Bourn to the Braves for a deal centered around one of their near major league ready arms seems perfect for all parties involved.

Lyles looking sharp so far. Keeping his PC down as well. Do I sense something good brewing?

Scary 4th for Lyles, but gets out of it with only minor damage (except his PC)

Yea, I don't see him getting past the sixth. He has had to endure two HIGH stress innings in a row, wouldn't be surprised if the fifth was his last inning.

Sox are playing without Crawford AND Oritz and they're still a scary bunch.

Lyles won't make it past the 5th, whatever happens.

And this is why I despise the NL "style of play" - get a guy in scoring position with 2 outs and your stupid pitcher has to hit......

Let's get with the times, NL, and implement the DH!

My only real complaint against using the DH was that it made the games longer and more drawn out but I read somewhere that the average length of games are roughly the same between leagues now.

Why we are at it, lets go ahead and get a DH for every position. If one guy only has to play one side of the ball, why not everybody?

That is interesting as I would not guess that. I just think it is dumb that one league has been using it and has for 38 years while the other league still has the pitcher bat. You would have thought that either the NL would go to a DH or that the AL would get rid of it; not where you have both leagues using such a style disparity.

Getting beaten by the Red Sox is certainly disappointing, but man, this series will be great for our strength of schedule and RPI.

Should have taken the bunt off when Bourn got the 2-0 count. He could have drawn a walk or better. If he hits into force out he can steal the bag anyway.

You cant intentionally walk a guy to load the bases, just to walk in a run by the next guy. Good grief.

This would be a fitting loss to probably the worst homestand I can remember.

Can't blame Mills for walking the RBI leader, MM needed to make a pitch and didn't.
