Im praying its a 4 game season and we miss all the difficult games and end with the bengals, panthers, colts and titans and go 4-0 and claim a 1 seed and bye in the playoffs!!!!
Having a playbook is one thing, knowing the SYSTEM is another. Unless Demeco is just looking at the playbook and walking through the assignments and plays. But I mean, how much of a playbook is there really on defense? That's why you've got all these individual position coaches and assistants, right? Because responsibilities are different enough from position to position that there is a lot of extra instruction required? It just seems to me that if Demeco is really trying to teach the 3-4, he's either played in it before, he's being secretly coached on it himself by the Texans staff, or his teachings probably won't be all that effective.
there will be nuances that will require the coaches expertise, however, just knowing the basics of where to line up and getting down the verbage is still important.
Kubiak recently said that his staff is teaching/coaching each other, instead of the players which they can not. How hard would it be to turn on the video cameras during those seasons, to cut some DVDs and discretely make them available to the players?
I always lol at these polls because states like Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming usually struggle to reach double digit votes.
Not true at all. They once had Jared Zabransky on the roster. Everyone in Idaho knows the Texans...or at least there's another NFL team in Texas that isn't the cowboys.
Interesting blog post that looks at if a defense improved when switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4. The author looked at teams since 1999 that switched to a 3-4 and compared how they did that season to the season before the switch. http://nflminds.blogspot.com/2011/06/immediate-impact-defenses-have-when.html Got my hopes up if Wade Phillips can do his magic the same way he did with the Falcons and Chargers.
**** Alaska.....Andre Johnson could run a go-route right through their igloos, and they wouldn't know what hit 'em!

I love the little noise he makes as he opens up The Alchemist and starts to read. David Anderson is great.
End the lockout indeed! I liked that arian recommended the alchemist, not surprised though. Also, wouldn't mind Dave getting more reps than those who tend to drop the ball.
