The judge should be held in contempt for repeatedly calling the middle finger the "index finger".

Are you serious? They wanted to fill up jails with people like him, when criminals walk the streets? Epic fail of the system IMO. I don't know why the the guy admitted to any of it. Deny.Deny.Deny

He was on video tape doing it, I don't see how he could deny it. It was clearly him on the tape. I can't think of a worse place to give someone the finger. He was in a courtroom with a judge and lawyers and it was all on national TV.

I would have said to the question - "What does it mean to you" - well, judge it means you're #1.

I think the cherry on top is the good press he gave his employer and himself as a service worker; on his day off, no less. Well played, troubadour!

This is an offense that should be punishable by the chair.

He's trying to create a deterrent for disruptive behavior during a high profile criminal proceeding. It's actually probably pretty apt strategy.

I wanna follow up by noting that this judge has some pretty tough decisions to make in real time, and has to be completely focused so as not to corrupt the criminal process and risk some kind of appeal or unjust outcome.

yea 6 days is ****ing stupid.

People who feed the poor get arrested and people who stick their middle finger out go to jail when people like OJ walked the streets for a long ass time.

We live in a **** world, I acknowledge that and think thats ok.

It's refreshing to see that there are still a few places where being an a-hole has consequences.

I agree. What kind of police state are we living in that a 28-year old man can't even show up at a child-murder trial just to be on TV and flip off the camera?

We may as well be living in Nazi Germany.

sigh, are you really going to grammar nazi me by using a sentence fragment? posting in colloquial speak on a rockets forum =/= confusing the index finger with the middle finger in a court of law

DaDakota sounds even stupiderest than the judge
