I'm sure someone mentioned it already, but all of these player comments about Jordan Hill are really starting to remind me of Kyle Lowry last offseason. If he can show half the growth that Lowry showed during this last season, then we might have ourselves a player.
Agreed....saw a few comments right after the draft that described him as dumb, low bball IQ, etc, but that's not the case. His demeanor while speaking gives off that feeling, but if you actually listen to what he's saying, he can verbalize the game better than many other players. He takes a second or two to gather his thoughs before speaking, and as he speaks, which tells me he has patience. It translates on to the court and that's why he's the kind of player that makes the "right play(s)."
Yeah, he sounds very intelligent, very focused. M&M reminds me a lot of Patterson in that way, which I mean as a real compliment. I think the guy is going to be a sponge, soaking up knowledge about defense from guys like Chuck, and offensive moves (hopefully in the same offense) from guys like Luis. And Patterson can help him along, having just experienced his first year and really coming on the second half of the season. Very impressed with the guy. Of course, it's early, but the early impression is good..
Agree with you. And once again, it's like that, the most important thing to succeed at a high level: brain and maturity level. Right now I imagine Morris fighting for the starting SF spot with Chase, and Motiejunas being the last guy at the big men rotation (even behind Thabeet). I still see Flynn likely traded to gain 3 extra millions of cap space to go for a legit center.
LOL, throwing the clubs 5 or 6 times, walking off the course in the middle of a round. It hasn't taught him patience, yet.
LOL it's good that he is playing golf sometimes. An athlete can learn a lot and develop his game by dabbling in another sport. The difference-maker between skill levels has a lot to do with the drive. Take Kobe for example, he swings by my college campus (like our soccer field, basketball field, and gym) on occasions and he's not always playing basketball because he's playing soccer with us or something.
As I think about Jordan Hill, I can't help but remember Landry's breakout year around this time of his career. Hopefully Jordan can have a similar breakout. He oozes with potential, but he just needs to put it together and stay focused.
Honestly, why the F do u give a rat's ass about Jordan Hill's haircut? The fact that a basketball player getting a haircut would improve your opinion of him as a person or basketball player really speaks poorly of you. It's not as though it's some outrageous haircut either. Dreads are not so uncommon, they don't get in the way, they do not turn heads whenever they're seen, nothing. Really none of our business, and weakness on your part if it changes your perception of a PERSON.
