Standing at 6'6", Chuck Hayes is the shortest starting center in NBA history, but he posted an improbable triple-double (13 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists) on March 23, 2011, which his 7'6" teammate Yao Ming has not yet accomplished in the league. Qiaodan Sports Co., Ltd, a Chinese sportswear producer in Jinjiang (76km away from Xiamen), announced on June 23rd that they’ve signed Chuck as their brand ambassador to China. Chuck’s Xiamen tour is part of his one-weak ‘Beyond Yourself’ marketing campaign in China, and he will meet his basketball fans in outdoor activities in Beijing, Shenyang, Xiamen and Shenzhen, said a spokesman of Qiaodan Sports. During his visit in Xiamen, Chuck Hayes will visit Qiaodan Sports’ R&D Center and factory in Tong’an District, and he will be tested for the new basketball shoes he is going to wear in the 2011-2012 NBA season.
Qiaodan AirChux, Qiaodan MaxHayes or whatever they call his shoes just doesn't have a ring to it. Chuck is going to have to work for his money, they aren't going to sell his shoes in the US so he'll have to make a few trips to China every year to promote his shoes.
He already had one shoe deal with Li Ning... I don't think trips to China are going to bother him at all.
