Here is the list of free agent centers from NBA.com. Of the list feel free to pick your top 5 choices or best fit for our team next season. I am interested in what fans are thinking. I still have my fingers crossed that we can somehow land Dwight Howard, but for now we have a need to address, and that need is a shotblocking defensive minded injury free center. (Yes I am a Yao fan) My Top 5 Tyson Chandler Nene Samuel Dalembert Marc Gasol Then Toss of the coin between Alexis Ajinca, Aaron Gray, Spencer Hawes or even, dare I say it, Kwame. I would take a flyer on a project called N'Diaye, Hamady, only 24 and athletic. http://www.nba.com/video/teams/wizards/2011/03/03/Unsaved1mp4-1578262/index.html
One of the following in order of preference - Gasol Nene DeAndre Jordan Dalembert If none of those are available , I look for a 1 year stop gap in hops of landing Howard next offseason tho that may change if he extends with Orlando. I also resign Hayes ..... he's the locker room glue and one of the best low post defenders in the league.
I see why he is not on the list, DeAndre Jordan is listed as a Guard free agent on NBA.com He would be one of my top choices as well, along with Tyson Chandler & Marc Gasol.
Chandlers injury history and to some extent age are the primary reasons he didnt make my list. I also think he's going to command more money than the others including Gasol and Nene.
I still say overpay Gasol - Centers are hard to come by and he can be a real difference maker. I can see him growing into a real superstar and the 2nd best center of the league.
Your kidding right? I mean 3-5 is just plain wrong Here my list 1.Marc Gasol 2.Tyson Chandler 3.Nene Hilario 4.DeAndre Jordan 5.Samuel Dalembart
none. Lets just lose so we can get a potential star next draft. Only way the Rockets have been good in the past few decades is by drafting #1. We aint getting any super star FA.
Its nice that you added a poll, but there are two other threads that pretty much cover this topic, The Picture of Aaron Gray and Centers Worth Signing. Merge....
Signing Chandler would not only be a plus for Houston, but it would be a minus for Dallas ...doublegood
Let's be honest, Gasol and Chandler are going to resign with their teams, so here's my more realistic choices: 1. Nene 2. Dalembert 3. Fesenko 4. Gray 5. Turiaf If those aren't avaliable, then: 6. Hawes 7. Wilcox 8. Mohammed 9. Przybilla 10. Ajinca Hayes will have an avaliable spot, we won't have as many PF's as we have now when the season starts, and saying that, if Yao's health is good, he might too, so you'll only take one of these that can play big minutes.
