Actually, I am sure I have forgotten a lot more reasonable Muslims. Makes the few idiots stand out even more, with you at the top of that part of the list.
Yet multiple users group you with other ignorant, stupid posters like basso and bigtexx. Who else agrees with your sentiment that I or any of the other posters on your "list" are fanatical Islamists?
Of course you characterize his assertion of "less reasonable" as "fanatical", but other than that I'd say his list is fairly accurate. And anybody who puts ATW and texxx or basso in the same sentence doesn't know what the f*** they're talking about. ATW may have a specific bone to pick with Islam, but he's nowhere near as antagonistic and disrespectful as texxx, nor is he as dense and dishonest as basso. His posts regarding Islam actually carry weight and create a substantive argument (something texxx does occasionally, and basso virtually never), and he is rarely the person who fires the first salvo when it comes to poo-flinging. Don't make such a ridiculous comparison.
Hmm... maybe they should mention that these men are blacks. And blacks are clearly violent? Or maybe when they talk about banking bailout, IMF, problems with World Bank they should clearly list who is and is not Jewish? If you're okay with the above examples, then yes I'd say you were being logically consistent demanding disclosure of these men's religions, as opposed to being bigoted and singling out a particular group you have racist preconceptions about. You dont have to justify your religion. I'm not Christian but one of the main problems you people have in the US is you're defensive and timid about your faith. Christianity is also responsible for the abolition of slavery, the suffrage of women, the preservation and transmission of Classical knowledge, most all Western art, science and architecture prior to the industrial age and generally giving direction and purpose for the West to catch up and surpass the rest of the world. **** like modern democracy could have not existed without Christianity nor most of everything that forms the basis of Western civilization as we know it. People have a problem with Christianity/and or Catholicism because they have a problem with any organized religion in general (that is not their own). They're afraid of a mass of morally aligned and politically active people and they bend over backwards to malign it to diminish its influence. Christianity is blamed for **** that governments did (for example colonizing the new world) and **** that human beings by their nature do for economic and political gain to other people.
Amen. Given how many times the louts on his fairly accurate list have called him a Nazi simply for making a reasoned anti-Islam argument, I'm rather amazed a good number of them have not been banned.
ROFL So it's perfectly acceptable for him to equate posters with terrorists, but not okay to do the same to him. I guess hypocrisy is something you've never encountered. And the hypocrisy is obvious in his posts as well. He is all for freedom of expression, unless its a Muslim woman who wants to express her modesty and/or piety by wearing a veil. And you call that a reasonable argument. LOL
Wait what? Christianity was routinely used as a tool to justify slavery both in the US and Europe. Suffrage only happened in the US because religious women who supported prohibition used it as a tool to later get prohibition put on the books. Most classical knowledge wouldn't even exist if (ironically) the Muslim world hadn't saved most of it during the dark ages. Hell the intellectual center of the world wasn't even in Europe during that time. A lot of modern art and science came to Europe by trade at that even before and afterwards. Also it wasn't until the Catholic church decided to be less of a nuisance during the renaissance did any real progress happen during that time. The Catholic church was as much of a hindrance as it was helpful in terms of progress and development. Also how did Christianity result in the spread of Democracy? Democracies only came into their own because of secular revolts against monarchies that were generally backed by some Christian religious institution.
First of all did Rhad say calling someone a terrorist is ok? Second, even if ATW calls someone that, who cares? That doesnt make calling anyone a Nazi ok (unless they actually are one). I think you're smart enough to realize the connotations that come with calling someone a Nazi considering the Nazis orchestrated the greatest system of organized genocide in human history. (in addition to all the problems they caused during WWII) So please dont throw that word around like its nothing. Be an adult please.
Btw, I just wanted to say that the whole calling ATW a Nazi thing is silly, immature and has no place here. That said, in no way is his anti-Islam argument 'reasoned'. His entire argument was that the religion of Islam should be judged by what the craziest Muslims do. He started ~100(?) threads to this effect. Those Islamophobic juices did flow pretty strongly through him...
I just wanted to say that I never called anyone here a terrorist. I said "Islamist-leaning poster" to a few posters who maintain some positions which I consider pretty extreme. The difference between being an Islamist (maintaining radical positions like some here have (e.g., defending a right to suicide bombings or passionately defending making women wear Burkhas or wishing fear of death upon a cartoonist) and being a terrorist (actively resorting to violence) is huge, in my opinion. And NMS is the Best, actually, that is not my argument, and I have stated that many times. The farthest I have gone in that regard is to ask the question whether there are some characteristics of Islam which favor it being abused, possibly more so than other religions, by extremists. That's different to judging the entire religion based on what the extremists do. I admit to being repetitive concerning the subject, which of course rubs some people the wrong way, and I don't want to rub those the wrong way who are reasonable. I therefore tried to cut down a bit on starting new threads recently. And of course I am provocative at times. But I appreciate that even those who disagree with me many times call out this whole "Nazi" schtick. Thanks.
I do agree, I don't get to check the site as much these days, but i do scan around and it certainly feels like he has cut down on the daily updates on why islam is for terrorism or is more likely or however he spins in. Nonetheless, appreciate the effort and shows that he is considerate and mindful in some regards
I don't think you've accurately summarized any of ATW's arguments. And this from a guy who's had it out with ATW several times. I see others have already chimed in here and made the point...
I think the above is absolutely accurate. That some fail to see this is hardly surprising, given their oft-noted duplicity.
Maybe its just your obsession that makes you focus on the select few. I am sure that was one of your objectives in "summer camp"
Seriously dude, stop ridindg ATW... Get him to stop harassing people and randomly bringing up their usernames in his "lists"...
