My anecdotal experience was described as such and in no way was intended to say oh, the law's not that big a deal because I've experienced exceptions to it (which is exactly what you did). It was rather meant to explain how I personally came to my beliefs and I specifically started my post by saying I was changing the subject for a moment.

You are breaking every rule of debate here. If there were judges here as in a proper debate you would score a big fat zero for all the logical twists and turns you're taking here.

and only against the comparison between the Black Struggle and the gay one.

In all honesty, I'd much rather witness the pure entertainment of certain people struggling with what an analogy is than I would read whatever half-assed argument they can come up with against gay marriage. But hey, keep fighting the good fight!

Actually your statement whether you realize it or not is calling Gay's humanity into question. You are saying that interracial marriage was an expansion of what is human to include blacks, FYI it including more than blacks, but you are arguing against extending that definition to gays.

Really you are not arguing against GAY MARRIAGE. Just complaining about how now we have to let non-family members visit loved ones in hospital and about how we are expanding the meaning of marriage. You are just upset that government is in the marriage business but you only complain about it when the subject is gay marriage. Got it.

Well then I will take offense anytime anyone compares any struggle of oppression to the Chinese experience. I mean we were also essentially enslaved as railroad workers, then denied citizenship rights and the only race outrightly banned from emmigrating here, meanwhile back in China the British were going to war to sell us Opium while millions of us were killed by foreign powers.

We can all look at our own struggles and argue that we had it worse. No one is denying that blacks had it bad or that the Civil Rights movement of the 1950's and 1960's was a unique period in history. That said blacks do not have a copyright on the term "civil rights" and mentioning civil rights in regard to other movements dealing with civil rights isn't diminishing that movement.
