    Everything in this post is indeed anecdotal and, at best, only points to exceptions, not the rule. You have no idea how many gays are fired from jobs because they are gay. You do know (or should) though that gays cannot be scoutmasters, that in some places they cannot be teachers, that they are still being fired from the military for being gay (though this law has changed) and that the LAW OF THE LAND is that it's still hunky dory in most parts of our country to discriminate based on sexual identity.

    There is nothing more ironic than you rolling your eyes at me in this conversation.

    The question is WHY IS THAT?

    The term SLAVE DRIVE does not elicit such bile and anger. . . WHY IS THAT?
    Slavery here went on for much longer . . .had more death . . more degregation and even today has far more lasting effects . .. .
    but . . .
    It is fine to be a SLAVEDRIVER but not a NAZI
    . . . Why is that?

    A part of me would content that NAzi's did their dirt against people that look like the majority . . .and the SlaveDrivers didn't.

    It's not random at all; you and I have argued over this exact same issue repeatedly. Inasmuch as you're still ignorant of what constitutes an analogy, I was interested to see if BJ could have more luck hammering some vocabulary into your head. He failed, but at least now you admitted what was blindingly obvious - that you don't see gay rights as an issue of relevance, and that the only thing you really care about in these threads is exclaiming repeatedly that black people had it worse. Now, I don't think anyone would disagree with your argument regarding the black struggle and it's violence/magnitude, but you also want to claim some sort of monopoly on the entire concept of a "civil rights struggle". That's not only foolish, but bigoted - a facet which any sane person in this debate probably suspected some time ago anyway.

    A racist though could, and they did say, that interacial marriage was an expansion of the meaning of marriage since marriage had previously been reserved for the members of the same race. The difference between "inclusion" and "expansion" that you are making is subjective.

    If I marry someone doesn't that make me their family member?

    For someone who claimed earlier that they don't care about the issue you sure are arguing quite vociferously against it.

    when i first had this argument on this site, i said the gay civil rights movement is not equal to the civil rights movement of the fifties and sixties. I stand by that position, as if to make oh wait an analogy.

    the texas revolution is equal to the us revolution in historical importance

    secondly, you've conceded the point i'm making and in no where did i say that the gay rights struggle is not a civil rights struggle.
