That sasha kaun guy definitely looks like a guy who could clog the paint... looks like he really goes after the rebound too. I like him.

Had a discussion on the Texans board with another guy who thought J.McGee from the Wiz. would be the guy to go after - But in doing so taking back Rashard Lewis toxic contract.

I think McGee would be a fantastic "Fit" for the team but the logistics of the trade just dont work out - You'd have to send Scola , Lee , Thabeet , and Twill back in return just to send enough to take on Lewis toxic contract.

Here's the conversation for what its worth -

For the most part our arguement isnt about McGee but centered around who and how much it would take to absorb Lewis contract ..... I think its just far too much considering the Rockets take Lewis as part of the deal - Unless of course they threw in some picks with limited protection.

Its amazing the amount of bad centers clutchfans posters seem to think would be an upgrade from Chuck Hayes. Despite his height Chuck Hayes would beat out (notice I said beat out) almost every single Center listed other than-

1.-(Healthy) Yao - Will have interest with other teams- most likely offered low deal of 2 to 5 million a year, 2 year with team option.

2.-(Healthy) Oden - Portland will be extending qualifying offer more than Yao's proposal most likely. Injury proned center for more money? est. 3 to 6 million a year for 3 years.

3.-Gasol - Hard to imagine Memphis not signing him. He is the key to their future. est. 10 to 13 million a year for 6 years.

4.-T. Chandler - missing piece to a boderline contender becoming world champs - I doubt the biggest spending in the NBA lets this guy go. est. 3 years, 7 to 8 million a year (Chandler TAKES LESS, to remain with the Mavs)

5.-Nene - most likely resigned - est. 5 years, 10 million a year. Starting center there for many years, has verbally stated he wants to stay.

6.-Dalembert - most "FREE AGENT" out on the market means he will require the most strenuous bidding process. If you can get him to committ early then possibly est. 8 to 10 million for 4 years plus team option 5th year.

7.-D. Jordan ?- (has good moments, all in all, not top 10 quality), If LA can move Kaman... they will spend possibly 8 to 12 million depending on offers. If they cant move Kaman they will still do whatever they can but I doubt they will have the capspace to sign Jordan past 8 Million a year.

-Lets just hope that D-Mo, Thabeet, or Jordan Hill show us something dramatic over the summer because signing a free agent outright will put a serious chokehold on the Rockets flexibility going forward. My bet is that Morey pulls a TRADE, and vows to not go crazy in free agency.

If you're going to give up Lee for a center, like Asik, why not focus on a better center?

He is a head case, but is about as good at the Rockets will get outside of the NBA. Not sure how his buy out is, I believe he is still under contract over seas.

Still, not a bad player to workout and consider.

We need to target Spencer Hawes. If he can become what he was in Sacramento again, it'll be a steal.

our best bet is to have a Thabeet trial by fire in the stating line up. As soon as he sucks it up, put Hayes in and go with the 3 forward lineup. Hawes would be nice, but there isn't a center out there worth gutting the team over. DA Jordan or Chandler would be a dream. Gasol and Nene too. Where is the Thabeet block-shot mixtape at to remind us that we just needs someone to rebound and block shots from that center position. That's what Chandler or DA Jordon would bring. We should have enough offense to get away with him as a starter, ala Hayes. Thabeet just needs to learn to look over the defense from the high post ans hit a cutter every now and then. If Hayes can learn that, anybody can.

IIRC the Jazz traded him and kept Fesenko because Fesenko had more size and upside. Say what you like about Jerry Sloan, but he did have an eye for talent.

It only seems that way because he has to compensate for the weight of his 'other' leg which forces him to lean one side. Really depends on which side his 'leg' is hanging on any given day.

Oden needs to learn how to filter an opposing player to his good leg....much like trying to make Jason Terry go to his right....

I'm with Carl Herrera. Kris Humphries should be our guy around 5. Re-sign Hayes.

Save some money for next season or trade Scola for a decent expiring.

6'10" in shoes. It's a different NBA these days. He would be an upgrade at center.

Check out his game logs -- http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3831/gamelog;_ylt=AjzwiP.w.TskcMt3AJ04elD_PKB4

Beast at boarding and some games with 4, 5 blocks. Oh and he shot a career high 53 % from the field.

Kim K on the sidelines wouldn't hurt either.
