Here's my random trade idea: Trade one (or more) of the 2009 Lotto Busts to the Kings for either Omri Casspi or Donte "the Inferno" Greene and give the Kings cash to make up the difference in salary. Casspi and Greene are not great (why the Kings brought back Salmons and are considering trading them), but are still young, have decent physical tools, and got some minutes for the Kings at SF. They can be subs/competition for Budinger at SF until/unless Marcus Morris is ready to play on the perimeter. Meanwhile, each of them is cheapter than each of the Busty Lotto Crew, so the trade can free up some room for a free agent pursuit. The Kings, on the other hand, are not at what's expected to be league min salary yet, so they probably won't midn taking on some salary for a year if you pay them cash. Besides, maybe Thabeet/Hill/Williams/Flynn could catch on there. Basically, my bust for yours.
So I ran into Gortat the other day at my gym in Sugar Land, and I'm told he'll be here for another week...why, I dunno. I just thought I'd mention it.
Also, Houston is a very good spot for NBA players to train during the off-season. I see them at my club all of the time with John Lucas and co. Ex: Carmelo, JR Smith, DeAndre Jordan, Iverson, Damon St., a bunch of draft prospects (including the Morris Twins), DRose is supposed to be over here next month... Seeing a player doesn't get me thinking about trades as much as it used to.
I didn't know that. I guess they come down here to sweat off the pounds in the heat. lol Pretty sweet info.
Let's give Scola back to San Antonio and nab Splitter for the 5 spot. Who knows, throw in Bud, Hill or T-Will and get Kawai Lenard while we're at it. Scola's by far the best player in the trade. Scola gets to compete for something important and we get to play our young talent.
Is there any possibility Utah would give up Al Jefferson? With Enes Kanter in town, they now have 3 serviceable centers. They might want to keep Okur to be a mentor to Kanter and with a great draft and FA year coming up, they may be interested in 2009 lotto busts for Jefferson. I know it's a long shot but Utah gets a lot out of this: 1. They become significantly worse helping them "tank" for the following draft. 2. Clearing up loads of cap space for DH or CP3 3. People have been saying they're not too big on Harris and some Flynn can still potentially be a good point. They can at least try it out.
I think Morey is biding his time. I believe the Bulls will be more willing to trade Asik at the trade deadline this season, depending on how Boozer and Noah play. If the Bulls are pushing for a title and seem to be in contention, they will be more willing to move Asik for immediate and long term help at the 2. With that being said: Houston trades Courtney Lee and a resigned Chuck Hayes Chicago trades Omer Asik + fillers. Bulls get Chuck Hayes, who can guard the stronger low post players in the league, Noah's weakness. They also sinificantly improve at the 2 by getting another scoring threat, and the defense won't have a noticeable drop off, if any at all. We get our defensive Center, and the perfect compliement to D. Mo. I would love the Chuck Wagon to remain a rocket for life, but if anyone deserves a better chance at a ring, it's him.
While Batum is a nice player i don't think he is better than Patterson or Morris. If we could get him for Budinger ok..
Really u hate on gallinari, but u wanna trade a starting PF, our starting SF, and our best bench player for a guy who has a terrible contract and averages 7 ppg and 8 rpg for his career, 5 and 7 last year. U shouldn't be allowed to post.
I think we should look to trade Scola for decent young player or decent draft pick and cap space. Both Sacramento and Indiana will have loads of capspace, but nobody really wants to go there. Sacramento might give Scola a look, though I don't see any deal that would make sense for either team. Indiana, however seems eager to turn it around and add proven players. They also need a PF. Maybe we could do something centered Scola for Paul George.
