I mean, for a post player he's relatively skilled and 6'11" - 285 lbs speaks for itself.

Maybe he had some sort of epiphany.

Maybe hitting rock bottom triggered some sort of wake up call.

Maybe he's finally in somewhat decent basketball shape.

Very doubtful, I realize. But the idea of him being able to salvage some sort of career extension at age 28 isn't all that far-fetched.

It won't be easy for them to find a good center, so a guy with that talent has to be looked at, but he has never been a good rebounder which is something the Heat need from their center position.

    This is fantastic news!

Maybe they'd one up themselves and also sign Bargnani to counter Dirk as a shooting big man.

Uh, didn't Pat Riley say that the Heat were going to get younger and quicker this offseason? And then they work with Eddy Curry, who is not young or quick? He will be ginormously fat after the lockout, but at least medical tests show he has heart. It's just damaged.

A slightly poor choice of words, given the player in question

In all seriousness, this is a guy who's only effective when he has the ball in his hands. Even when he was "good", he couldn't defend, pass or rebound at all.

Best case scenario is that he reverts to the player he was with the Knicks, and even if that happened, he'd be a horrible fit for this Miami team. His presence would likely close down some driving lanes for Wade and LeBron.

Centers are hard to come by. It's easy for people to say "go get a center! that's what we need!" It's harder to find one worth the money.

Isn't it weird, that if we signed he could arguably be our best option at center as well.

The Rockets are still in dire straits at center.

No starting center (Yao is injured) and no backup center (Thabeet is d-league material).

As bad and lazy as Eddy is, he still might be better than Thabeet or Motiejunas at center.

    I just LOLed.

Come to think of it, Joel Anthony did a pretty good job for Miami.

LOL what are you talking about? Chuck Hayes is better than Curry in every way imaginable.

Eddy Curry is only useful for a work-out if you're using him as weight on a leg-press.

    ?

They have above average rebounders for their position at the 2 and 3 and their 4 is an ok rebounder.

You'd have to be a moron to think that Eddy Curry has better offensive skills than Chuck Hayes.

They can use anybody or thing (in his case) to clog up the middle.
