That would be a crappy move. Biedrins is a shell of his former self. The guy played horrible and wasn't even in the rotation. Even when he played he could barely stay on the floor cause he was a foul machine. And not to mention he's injury prone with a big contract. What if he goes down again? That be 9 million sitting on the bench and less players to fill the void in the middle.

That would have been an awesome trade. I highly doubt we pull it off without altering the trade. If any other team wants him then they will surely have something better to offer then Hill and Thabeet.

No other team will even want to touch that contract unless they're dumping same bad contract.

I'd rather the Rockets went after Kwame or Fesenko in free agency.

We dont have any better options. To get this starting C for free is great, quite frankly

Wow, I didn't realize Biedrins was still that young. I thought at least 27-28. He does have a lot of minor injuries it seems but a lot of time that can be alleviated by a proper training staff. I'm not saying always, just...I think the Rockets probably have one of the best staffs in the league. Not so sure about Golden City.

If you can get him for the trash that is Hill and the project/leaning towards bust that is Thabeet...you do it. Everytime.

Throw in some picks too. We will never be picking high enough to draft a player that we could really expect to provide better output than the known commodity of Biedrins' game.

why trade away TWO healthy potentials for ONE mediocre that's injury prone?

    Makes no sense....

    I hope that doesn't happen.

The problem is he's not a starting C anymore. He's young, but done. He's never fully recovered from a back or abdomen injury since 2009.

Replace the 2013 with a 2012 pick and I'll do it.

I think Morey is planning to sign Fesanko anyway once the new CBA is in place. He will make for a good backup center.

I think most folks already know Hill and Thabeets potential.

Im not saying this is a good trade. But getting rid of 2 worthless players in exchange for 1 worthless player sounds like it may have potential.

I don't think he's close to being done. I'll let the training staff decide once they do a physical. Honestly, if he passes the physical, I'd really give up some good pieces for this guy. We just have to gamble right now. We are at least 2 deep at every single position except center, and this is our main weakness right now.

But the thing is, the moment that Chuck was re-implanted last season as the starting Center and was given the bulk of the minutes there -- as soon as that happened the Rockets had one of the best 5 records in the entire league.

The trade of Brooks and Battier is given a lot of credit, but if you go back and look at the records, the big uptick started before that and corresponds perfectly to the time that Hayes started getting more time at the 5.

I know its unconventional to have a 6'6" starting center, but what works works.

I also think they need to get a legitimate rebounding rim protecting 5 (maybe Beindrens) and that Hayes should play more at the 4 -- however, he is by far the best center on the team right now, and Hill and Thabeet have absolutely no chance of supplanting him from that role. Yao could, but we can't rely on the Yao.

I want Dorrel Wright in that deal. Give them Flynn. Biedrins' contract is pretty bad, I think we deserve another piece.

It is telling that the Rockets are giving up on Hill and Thabeet this fast. It just confirms what some of us suspected: they are worthless.

You cant attribute the turnaround entirely to Chuck Hayes. A number of factors happened all at the same time.

Interesting, I wouldn't mind trading for Biedrins if it wasn't for his bad salary. Hill and Thabeet are about as good as they're going to get imo. That's a tough call.
