Also, I didn't ask what this team's record would be if MLB only played 82 games. I asked where would they stand through 82 games ("an NBA season's worth of games), so since they're 28-49 right now, I thought they would probably be 29-53.

Just wanted to clarify. I might not have worded my initial comment correctly.

Your just saying that because he has a higher HR/AB ratio than anyone else on the roster.

I hope your right, because he is going to have to hit a HR every game to stay a starter ;)

Norris gets out the 1st, finally with only 1 run of damage. But it took him 28 pitches to do it.

WARNING: If you have young children at home, block any stations that will be showing the Astros play the Red Sox. There will be graphic displays of violence inappropriate for kids, including but not limited to anal rape.

Could Sam Fuld run through Yao Ming's legs without even crouching?

If so, would it be like a car going through a drive-thru carwash?

Yep, he's had a lousy game. In 4 plate appearances, he's seen a total of 7 pitches. The HBP was probably his best play of the game. His worst was the error on a routine ground ball (got bailed out by that throw home and Del Rosario) before that most untimely GDP that pretty much sealed our fate.

With the way this season is going they'll probably sweep that series then proceed to lose 15 straight.

Remember all those people saying Bagwell wasn't "clutch"? Remember all the bellyaching about Biggio's defense and Ausmus's OBP?

This might be one of the worst homestands of the last two decades. Thy're bad, not sure anything will change after this upcoming butt kicking.

man I was at the game tonight and as someone who played baseball back in college, our hitters just don't look like athletes. I was 6'1 215 and played RF for a big time D1 program and sitting in the front row behind first base tonight, JR Towles was one guy I remember looking at and thinking WTF. Our whole lineup of hitters is a joke, Lee is so disgustingly out of shape,Wallace too. Johnson was the only one I looked at and thought of as an athlete. I guess I just expected more from a group of major league ballplayers. It was an eye opening experience, I can see why I was given the tickets the last 2 games from a good friend....this is painful, I got memories of the Terry Collins days.

Dam Happ...this has gotten old. Hate to say it but unless he regroups big time the rest of this game, Happ may need to be demoted.

Translating this pitching duel we're witnessing into an imaginary dialogue:

    Happ: "I suck."
    Niemann: "No, I suck."
    Happ: "Well, I suck more.
Niemann: "No way, I suck more."
Happ: "I can put fans to sleep when I pitch."
Niemann: "I can make them vomit."
Happ: "Yea, I can do that too. I can also make eyes bleed and babies cry."

... and so on until the bullpens mercifully take over.

What is wrong with Happ? He could end up out of the rotation if he keeps this up.
