Too bad you can't actually see in that cell phone video what he is wearing (or not). But it's true, he was not belligerent, maybe they unnecessarily made a mountain out of a molehill. Still, I think it is not too much to ask not to run around with your pants down (unless you are Beavis or Butthead).

COME OUT WITH YOUR PANTS DOWN!

Well, you can ask all you want but you can't kick off the plane unless you have a clear policy that states as such. Which they clearly don't if they allow a crossdresser to wear a bikini on a flight the week previously.

I honestly think the situation could have been handled better all around, but the fact that either the airlines or cops or press lied and defamed his character should win him some money. Sagging is silly, and whether or not it should be allowed...that's not a big deal to me. The biggest problem I have is that they labelled his as belligerent and a danger to safety of the airplane...he clearly was civil.

This incident reporting should be based on the merits of whether or not a airline can kick off a passenger for sagging without established rules, not creating some BS story that this kid was causing trouble.

r****ded. I am positive that they don't have a policy on having sex on the plane, because common sense dictates they don't have to list one million different things that decent people wouldn't normally do. Does this mean that they should allow it if it happened? Of course not.

Fact of the matter is, it doesn't matter what you think is appropriate, if asked by a business to correct something and you don't, then shey should reserve the right to refuse you service.

It has nothing to do with white or black. I tell people at my establishment to remove themselves if they are going to expose their underwear. Its a sham to think is was a race thing instead of an appropriate thing. I don't need my children looking at your drawers.

I guess you totally ignored the whole cross dresser thing? Yeah, they don't have a sex policy just like they don't have a dress code which was why the guy pictured on the last page was allowed to fly but I guess that's ok for your kids to see, right?

I'd rather everybody sag than somebody use the word r****d as well.

Don't call me names over something like this.
Also, I'm positive they do have a policy against having sex on a plane. It's covered by indecent exposure policy, etc. Policies are there for the reason that what you deem indecent is not what someone else might. Clearly showing boxers is upsetting to some but it is not illegal.
And I totally agree with you that a business has a right to refuse service, as long as they enforce that equally across the board. And if the policy is trying to be stricter than the law currently requires, it should be stated clearly somewhere. Just because it's your establishment you can't just kick someone out because they're wearing a Mavericks shirt, unless it's clearly stated somewhere. And I'm not even sure about the legality of that.

it is the selective enforcement that makes it discrimination.

So do you have more of an issue with them not refusing service to this guy or refusing service to the dude with this draws exposed?

    Charges Will Not Be Filed

    http://espn.go.com/college-football...os-deshon-marman-charged-saggy-pants-incident

SAN FRANCISCO -- Prosecutors will not file charges against a University of New Mexico Lobos football player who was arrested after wearing saggy pants on a plane at the San Francisco airport.

San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe announced Wednesday his office had reviewed the June 15 arrest of DeShon Marman and determined criminal charges were not warranted.

Marman was arrested on suspicion of trespassing, battery of a police officer and obstruction after police say he refused to leave the US Airways flight on the captain's orders.

According to airline officials, Marman repeatedly was asked to pull up his pants but did not listen. They say he was exposing a body part.

Marman's attorney has denied that his client's skin was showing. He has accused the airline of racial discrimination. Marman is African-American.

I wonder if the other incident had something to do with it. Regardless, it's the right call not to press on with it.

I'm against red-light cameras but stuff like this has me rethinking it. If it wasn't for the video on this plane and the video for the West Point Cadet, where would they be? Taking the 'honorable' word of airline officials and Patty Labelle over these guys for sure.

I'm in the same boat. Unlike the brothers here, the possible selective discrimination here doesn't tilt me, and can be another issue about what is appropriate vs what an airline can do.

What bothers me about this story is the trumped up charges they put on this guy. I have honorable friends in law enforcement who have to deal with the temptations of massive drug money, and here, these jerk cops are being dishonorable over little incidents. It's ridiculous.

The Labelle thing, this plane thing, and what about that crazy video where the cop tackles the bicycle rider in NYC and then arrests him for assaulting a cop? What the hell is wrong with these cops?

If I was a cop, there's a decent chance I'd be on the take or be corrupt when it comes to money, but I just don't understand the motivation to make up crap about citizens and victimize people without any gain. Is there some emotional problem or something? Lie to make $$$...that makes sense; but tackling random bicycle riders, leaving a beat up kid on the ground while posing with D list celebrities, and trumping up charges about some kid who sagged his pants...that's just stupid. Do your damn job properly and stop giving cops a bad name.

Remember what goes hand in hand with money? Power.
These cops don't have money but they sure have power.

They should have kicked that cross-dresser off the plane as well. Hurts my eyes just to see that. Yeah, call me intolerant.
