This is going to be a PF class, which is perfect because we only have 5! I'm extremely excited about this class though. It will better reflect the talent level of John Wall's class. Very very exciting players joining the league in 2012.
It's heavy on SF too. If there was a season to tank, it would def. be this one (not this past draft).
I wonder when the "Anthony Davis vs Perry Jones" debates will start. Both Power forwards, posses an unlimited amount of potential. Both are #1 pick talents in any draft. The "Michael Gilchrist vs Harrison Barnes vs Quincy Miller" debate will be another good debate going into next season. Quincy Miller already has the label of a Kevin Durant type, I wonder if he can live up to the hype. Hell, even would've been lottery talent this year, guys like John Henson, Tyler Zeller and Terrence Jones are being projected as possible mid 1st rounders. Which really speaks to the talent level of the 2012 NBA Draft. Kentucky, Baylor, UNC , Ohio State and Duke are probably the best teams to keep an eye on for this upcoming season. More than half the lottery of the 2012 NBA Draft, will be coming from those teams.
I like PG Myck Kabongo. Skill/Speed/Flash and more Speed from what I've seen of him. I really like Kabongo's game.
And we get to pick 2 of the top 20 talents in this draft, AND we'll have the 2009-failures coming off of the books so we can sign a High-Talent Free Agent! DHoward? DWilliams? This only works if we do not sign anyone this season from teh UFA class. Can we really go into the 2011/12 season with the rost we have and come up short? Can we blame a bad season on McHale and an "adjustment period"? If so, our team will be ripe for: Lowry/Dragic/Flynn Martin/Lee/2012 Pick 1st Rd Morris/2012 Pick 1st Rd Scola/Hayes/Patterson Howard/Motiejunas/Yao?

Alright year in and year out we get excited about getting one of these stars. Luckily this draft is very talented, so we will still come out with someone very talented. Lets see here, let's say the Rockets get there usual 14th overall pick. Top 5 Most likely: Austin Rivers Anthony Davis Harrison Barnes Perry Jones Michael Giltrist Next Top 5: Marquis Teague Quincey Miller Jared Sullinger Jermy Lamb Brad Beal Next top 5: Mych Kambago Terrence Jones LeBryan Nash John Henson Josh Smith My prediction is we are all very excited about this draft thinking we are going to get one of these young superstar potential players only to draft 6'9 Thomas Robinson because Morey feels like he can contruibe now. /:
^^^unless the new CBA gets rid of the age requirement, Andre Drummond won't be eligible til 2013. Also, the Clippers have Minnesota's unprotected 1st next year. I've said/typed it before, and I'll say/type it again: Trade anything and everything to L.A. for Minny's 1st next year. I seriously doubt the Clippers give it up though. Imagine them making the playoffs next season and then get the #1 pick
There are centers out there, but they need to make a name for themselves over the next 11 months. It's a shame Sullinger and Young can't be stretched out to gain 3 inches in height. It should be between Anthony Davis, Harrison Barnes, and Perry Jones for the top pick - and I really think Jones is going to turn some heads in his second year.
Harrison "Black Falcon" Barnes aka "Mr. Greatest Freshmen of All Time" will not be a first pick next year unless he somehow wins NPOY. One of the 10 elite prospects will drop near 20/10 or 20/5 stats and become first pick.
actually the word is Drummond would really be a 5th year high schooler that then would be eligible for the draft. By the time the 2012 season starts he will be 19. The thinking is that he is draft eligible next year.
He is....but I don't know that he lives up to the hype. He could stand to polish his game quite a bit. He's far from a finished product.
