Don't know much about this guy. From his college stats, he's not that good of a shooter. 33% 3pt, 61% ft. And from the workout clip, he seems to have a slow release. Don't know if it's because it's not in real game. Offensively, he doesn't seem to have a higher ceiling than Budinger, other than being taller (but less athletic). Defensively, people are saying that he's better. So, if he isn't going to be a better overall player than Chase, I don't know why we spent that much to draft him.
im not gonna bash on the 2nd round pick but why not draft someone with more potential like jeremy tyler or darius morris?
Rather have Parsons than Tyler or Morris. Tyler's gonna be a scrub and we have some real legit point guards right now. Don't forget we have Llul still...
Jeremy Tyler can't even dominate the asian leagues, while other NBA rejects are dropping 20 pts a game on those midgets. If we want a guy with more potential, the NBA GMs might as well look at one of those young japanese players dominating Tyler.
from the youtube highlights he looks good on offense. hes probably soft though. and probably sucks on defense. he slipped to the 38th pick for a reason...
The people who thinks he is slow or not very athletic are, frankly, dumb. He's not extremely explosive but he's quick for his size and a very solid leaper. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see him play some SF and defend against some SF's. He possesses above average lateral quickness and is very nimble for his size.
Parsons is quicker laterally than Chase (sadly), but he can't compare to Chase's full court speed and athleticism (which is where his athleticism truly lies)
but he's only 20 years old i believe. not many players can go overseas and dominate at 20 especially coming out of high school. i just think it would've made more sense considering the upside and that fact that big men are hard to come by.
There are many 20 yr olds are playing in the more talented NCAA and getting 15-20 pts. You thrown them in the less talented and shorter Japanese and chinese leagues and they dominate.
What you mean slip? He wasn't even projected to be drafted when the season started. So I would say this is a very big deal for him.
Everybody is writing Chase Budinger off ... again. I'll pony up $10 to the tip jar if Chase is not the starting SF when the season arrives. Neither Morris nor Parsons is going to give us 30 to 35 points like Bud. Bud is a competitor, and I have a hunch that he is working on his D day and night. Quite a few posters here had to eat crow after writing him off just because we got a new toy (remember T-Will?) Bud, you've got fans!

People do love to hate Budinger here....it's not his fault Adelman kept feeding him minutes obviously before his shot was back. He gives you more good stretches than bad stretches but people act like he single-handedly loses games for us. Don't get it at all.
