I'm making a list, feel free to add who you think will be on the market: Beasley(T-Wolves drafted Williams) Monta Ellis(GSW drafted a two, and he's been wanting out for a while) Sessions(Cavs have Irving and Baron, should be interesting to see where he ends up, a couple of teams could use a distributor(I'm looking at you Sacramento) Anybody from the Pistons except Greg Monroe or Knight(They've needed to blow it up for a while, but I don't see anyone taking Charlie V or Rip) Dragic(If Flynn pans out, there's no need for Dragic)
If Rox can't get Biedrins, they need to make a 4 yr $40 million offer to DeAndre Jordan. Let the hate begin...
Way too much. If you're willing to pay that much you might as well throw in the extra millions and get Gasol.
Exactly, you pay a premium for TALENTED bigs. DeAndre is not talented enough for a contract of that size especially if there is a new cap... he would be such a hindrance.
Talented big = a big that doesn't suck. Is DeAndre close to one of the the top 10 Cs in the league? How far of a drop is it from DeAndre to say the next tier of C? Big men are a priority and that's why they demand the "overpay".
Richard Hamilton/Tayshuan Prince Nene/JR Smith/ Kenyon Martin Raymond Felton (was on the market) Big Baby Joel Pryzbilla Caron Butler/Tyson Chander (both unrestricted) Jason Richardson Grant Hill Andrei Kirilenko CJ Miles Josh Howard
I think it's depressing that the definition of a quality big is, 'One that doesn't suck.' I would rather put all my eggs in one basket and aim for a quality big such as the likes of Bogut. If I can't get him, I nurture the young talent and try my luck through the draft until such opportunity rises again. I'm not going to overpay for DeAndre Jordan...
If the Rockets are serious about avoiding the lottery, they'll need to give serious consideration to offering this guy an enormous contract, and I'd say ten million per is the starting point, probably higher.
Wouldn't put these two on the outright 'on the market' but these two are extremely available. Granger and Scola.
thank god you're not the GM. You do realize there is a lockout looming and no on knows what the cap will look like. Good call though...
I'd rather get Samuel ****ing dalembert than him, and even he would probably not get about of the lottery
Offer a max contract to Marc Gasol. He's the 2nd best center in the NBA and we wouldn't have to trade away any of our core players. No way the Grizzlies can offer more money now that they're locked up with Rudy Gay and Randolph with huge contracts.
Scola, (Martin or Lee) Scola: BYC comes off July 1st then we will be waving good-by to him; that and that alone is the only reason he is a Rocket today...(Sad I really like him, too) -Don't think DM the GM has him laid down in deal somewhere?... ( when the Rockets have 5 or so power-forwards on the team for next year ) -Scoring in the post is a hard thing to come by we should get a nice return on him... Lee: We need to resign C. Lee to a better contract or trade him now... -he will/should walk if not -he is a coaches dream... a true 2 way player that is not an all-star or role player just a soild wing that does everything very good. -he should/would start on most team We should get a nice return on him, too Martin: -10.6M+ with the new CBA coming -he played all season this year - it want happen very often IMO -he started to look better on "D" -IMO this as good as gets with him so trade high on him NOW 23.5pts a game we BETTER get a really nice return Give time; time
