I will be visiting N.O in the near future , it will be my first time (that's what she said ). I would greatly appreciate it if i could get any info on the places to visit , places to eat , places to hang out etc. I will rep anybody with some solid info . Thanks in advance!!
One place I always eat at in Nawlins is Vincent's. It's a really nice Italian restaurant with Cajun influences. It's in the Garden District. Go check it out!
If you plan on staying on Bourbon, stay at the Royal Sonesta, just ask for an inside room (away from the street, near the third floor pool) and they'll usually upgrade you with a suite. I LOVE the breakfast at Brennan's. Their Eggs Bayou Lafourche is da bomb. Also, all first timers have to visit Café Du Monde in the Riverwalk Market right next to the French Quarter. Also, if you wanna hear "real" New Orleans music and not the Bourbon Street garbage visit d.b.a. on Frenchman St. On my parents first visit I couldn't pull them away from there.

Acme Oyster Bar if you like oysters. BEST OYSTERS IN THE USA. Also, you can't pass Cafe DuMonde's beignets. They're better than any funnel cake you've ever eaten.
I went on my first trip to NOLA back in March. We stayed at the Embassy Suites near the Riverwalk. The Riverwalk is a nice little spot to stay at, close to downtown, Bourbon Street, the casino, tourist attractions, etc. If you're over 30, Bourbon Street is overrated. I guess you want to go there to say you've been but nothing more at least that is how I felt. Mulates was a good place to eat but it never made anybody's list on where to eat when I asked with my similar thread. Cafe du Monde for beignets most definitely. There is one inside the Riverwalk Shop. There are t-shirt stores and souvenir shops all around that area. I wanted to go to Drago's and on a swamp tour but didn't have time. There was a restaurant across the street from the casino that was good, it was a restaurant slash brewery but cannot remember the name. New Orleans is a party town so don't expect to go to relax.
Stay at hotel monteleone on royal. Breakfast : cafe du monde, Elizabeth's, surrey's, Dante's, commanders, stanley Lunch: get crawfish somewhere, po boys at domilese's, crabby jacks, Johnny's, don't waste your time at mothers. Willie Mae's scotch house for fried chicken, coops, and port of call Dinner: Tommy's, Jacques imos, cochon, Nola, praline connection, aldofos Out: live music somewhere on Frenchmen, pat o's piano bar
Food in New Orleans is great. Sample everything and everywhere. Even the little hole in the wall places have great unique stuff.
Acme for the best oysters Deanies for seafood Domilisis for the best shrimp poboys I personally found Mothers quiet overrated and am no fan of cafe du monde either.
