We could just overpay to sign him and regret it the following season which at that point Morey will trade him to Milwaukee for Brandon Jennings.

We don't have enough cap space* to truly overpay him, unfortunately. We'd have to work out a SnT with Sacramento.

*going by current salary cap limits

He might be willing to take a pay-cut and sign for the MLE.

I was a bit sarcastic but ultimatly we would still sign him and certainly overpay him if it was a sign and trade. Honestly think signing Sammy will cripple us down the road and still not make is a title contender. If your going to overpay then do it for Gasol or Jordan not him.

He is from Haiti So Miami would make him very close to home.

Him in Heat uniform would not shock me.

Why, hes going to be ridiculously overpaid. The rockets need a real center that can make a difference.

If you're going to go after and overpay a restricted free agent, it should be gasol. Not ****ing dalembert.

He isn't going to be overpayed because he will join Heat or Knicks. They could offer him just the MLE (if it still would be) and that is the fair price

Marc Gasol is a restricted free agent, they will match the offer from other teams.

Everyone expects Scola to be traded but I feel like Patterson might be the one traded. Some team like indiana might be interested in a combination of Patterson + Bud + Thabeet or Flynn combo.

Most of the top SF in the NBA are 10+ million. I'm wondering if we can sign Yao to cover the difference of the in/out salary and just have the other team buy him out. Since he's still re-cooperating, he'll be fine to wait the mandatory time before deciding whether to sign with Houston again or not.

For example Flynn + Patterson + Bud + Yao ~3mil 1 year contract + cash to cover Yao's buyout
    for Granger + future pick

then trade Lee + Hill for Asik and Korver + future pick

    Asik/Hayes
    Scola/D Mo
    Granger, Morris, Korver
    Martin/Williams
    Lowry/Dragic

Houston Trades: Jordan Hill and Trade Exception
Houston Receives: Omer Asik and Kyle Korver

Chicago Trades: Omer Asik, Kyle Korver, and Ronnie Brewer
Chicago Receives: Richard Hamilton and Trade Exception

    Detroit Trades: Richard Hamilton
Detroit Receives: Jordan Hill and Ronnie Brewer

Houston is able to pick up a true center in Asik
Chicago is able to pick up a productive shooting guard in Hamilton
Detroit is able to get rid of Hamilton and pick up a big man to play next to Monroe in Hill

Indy has enough enough young players to develop. What they need is a vet with leadership to guide their young bigs and a guy that can provide instant offense off the bench because Posey and Rush definitely aren't getting it done. Flynn could have worked if they didn't steal George Hill from the Spurs. Not sure why they would take Yao when they already have Hibbert 7'2 to work with.

Because Chicago won't be getting instant offensive spark in your proposed asik trade, I don't think they will deal Korver. I say trade Lee and Parsons for Asik. Lee could be a starter and Parsons could end up being a poor man's Hedo for the Bulls off of the bench. They may lose Asik to free agency if they don't move him. Lee and Parsons will be free agents, but will be much more re-attainable.
