This has probably been mentioned, or at least i hope it has by several posters, but there are so many complaints about Morris being "another" Pf pick by Morey. Although i do think he can and will play some 3, even if he was just a PF, He's not like anyone else Morey has picked up.

What do we say about chuck? If only he had offense.
What do we say about Scola? If only he had defense.
Landry? Hill? If only they had more potential left on both ends.
PP? If only he developed even more offensively.

Morris is better rounded than any of these guys. He's got the game on both ends and the potential that we've been asking for. Tired of one-sided players? He's not another one. Last year we took PP and at that point he was the only two way PF we had (hill is too inconsistent). Now we have two, they're young, and they aren't finished products. I think that's something that's been lost around here, at least that's what I saw from reading other threads.

Really Dude? Man give these guys a chance. Morris had his ref-bumping incident but damn give the guy a break, he's what 21? Your opposition sounds personal. Morris has a rep for playing tough actually.

The problem with these finished products as you described them is just that...they're finished products. They have little to no upside. They're solid players, but that's it...nothing more, nothing less. They're not going to significantly improve while they're in the NBA. To me that is a problem. You need players with high upside. Players, if given the opportunity, will improve year after year. I don't see anybody like that on the Rockets other than TWill...and he only has an outside shot due to other issues. Hopefully, DM can be one of those guys.

Rockets now have alot of players that can do flashy NBA Jam style dunks. t-will, courtney lee, chase-bud, Morris, J-Hill and Parsons all have serious hops. even d-mo, and patterson can get up there. rocket's season will be fun to watch indeed after the lockout.

oh yeah Flynn can jump out of the gym too if the rockets decide to keep him. hes one of them traditional mid to late 90s/ early 2000s short but extremly athletic type of point guards.

Except the roster is full of guys that are far from finished products. It's mostly athleticism and youth with T-Will, Hill, Thabeet, Patterson, Motiejunas, Flynn, Morris, .
You can't count on any of these guys to produce now. As for the future, it's a roll of the dice until we see the finished product.

I was really only refering to the rest of the power forwards listed (hill, chuck, scola) when I said they were finished products. Yes, we do have some at other positions, but i think there's still some potential left outside of Marcus and PP, but that's another conversation.

At first I was thinking Morris might not play Small forward because he was a Power forward. Then I realized who is at Small forward. Morris can beat out Budinger there. Budinger is not a great rebounder, defender, good size, or particularly fast either. Now Morris is at least as fast as Budinger from what I have seen and he is better than Budinger in all categories except for scoring which we dont know about yet. He certainly can be no worse a defender. So bythe end of this seaosn I expect Morris to take Budingers starting position at Small forward. He is better in every way except for three point shooting. Even potentially scoring. You have to remember when saying can he guard small forwards? Can he do any worse than Budinger? Is he not strong enough to at least guard and Lebron and Carmelo? I know Budinger isnt. I know Budinger cant rebound and we need more rebounds and more defense than Budinger brings. I think Morris brings more of both if he is starting at Small forward.

You know what, even if he doesn't end up being our savior at 3, at least he looks like a damn good player with rare post-up skills.

I think it's funny how some posters are upset because the Rockets didn't use the poster's mock draft as their drafting guide.

Since they didn't take the guy you thought they should take they messed up? Right.

I am gonna like him and build him up until he proves to be a bust. Then I will rip Morey to shreds. Until then I like him. For now he sounds cool in theory. Just like mountian climbing does. Until you get near the top and start to realize you might die. In theory Moreys plans are like this too. They sound cool at first.

However I keep thinking if they sound cool long enough one of them might just pan out to be cool. Sort of like the people that do make it to the top of the mountain without any physically life altering injuries.

Thats what I said. Give him a chance first. Then if it doesnt work out Moreys Pf to Small forward draft and assets building. I was being a little sarcastic.

Man some of you are really soft. Do not take everything so literal and be so soft about jokes and some pokes at Morey and some players and performances. It might not work out. So what? If it does good.
