It'll be with Beasley. They'll bond over their smoky green hobby.

See, guys!!! I don't ALWAYS agree with the Rockets' front office.

Seriously, though, was PISSED when they let Kawhi Leonard (and, to a lesser extent, Chris Singleton) get by them at #14. I think Leonard can be the next Shawn Marion.

But then again, I also killed the Rockets for taking Aaron Brooks over guys like Josh McRoberts, Nick Fazekas and Glen Davis in 2007. To make matters worse, I actually LAUGHED (no joke!) when Seattle picked Carl Landry at #31 during that same draft and was flabbergasted when the Rockets actually paid money and a future pick for "that scrub."

I've learned since then to give this front office the benefit of the doubt.

Still, like others, I am disappointed that they didn't get the player I wanted.

(My draft thoughts and grade are spelled our a little more particularly here.)

I think Kwahi's upside is around present-day Marion. His athleticism is overrated and nowhere near prime time Matrix.

I think Marcus Morris' upside is closer to Paul Pierce-lite than Corliss Williamson. You are going to be surprised by his ball handling and passing ability, as well as his shot making.

What are u basing this off of? Did u watch his college games? I did, probably 90% and if someone thought he was paul pierce, he would've been drafted earlier. The last guy kinda compared to pierce was butler when he came out. I don't see caron in morris either. That's not to say he won't be solid, but that's what he will be, solid.

But isn't that is the point of the right there.

    Marcus can be a Paul Pierce/Glen Robinson/Antoine Walker-lite. DM can be a Bargnani/Dirk-lite.

When you have no go-to player you need players with that level of ceiling not ones with Shawn Marion's ceiling.

(I realize that I'm just concurring with you Bima, and you somewhat saying this same thing.)

That's funny because I see some Caron in him as well.

If you watched 90% of him in college then you would realized that he was asked to play the 4 there. That does not mean he doesn't have the ability to play the 3, like he has his whole life before getting to Kansas, and during the draft process where he has gotten lighter and quicker.

I guess we couldn't get our better-than-K.-Leonard-wing and went after the not-as-hyped-Valanciunas center. Seriously, is Motiejunas going to bring anything other than the surprise attack lefty layup? I know Boozer catches average defenders with it all game long, but can Motiejunas really guard half the players from the International Leagues like Kanter and Vesley?

And do we always go after forwards from some place that goes by UK? Seriously, I see a lot of Chuck in Morris, the best Morris in this year's draft, and Norris that is.;)

Caron and robinson played the 4 in college and no one doubted they could trasition to the 3 because they could handle the ball in tight space and create space instantly. Caron and robinson and pierce were all about his size as well as carmello. None had to lose weight to get quicker, but doesn't mean you can't get quicker. Playing the 3, you're probably playing against the most athletic guy on the court. I hope he pans out in the image you have and I guess we will see.

If we had taken Leonard no one would be wondering if he could play the 3, despite the fact that Leonard & Morris have almost identical
weights (227 for Leonard/230 for Morris),
max verticals (32in for Leonard/33in for Morris)
    3/4 court sprint times ( 3.15 for both )
standing reaches (8'10 for Leonard & 8'9.5 for Morris)

I like the Morris pick & think he could be a really tough cover as an NBA player.

You know. If someone thought Paul Pierce was Paul Pierce, Paul Pierce would have been drafted earlier, too.

Not that Marcus Morris is Paul Pierce, just saying these things come out funny like that sometimes.

Why do you type like this? It's one thing when you speak like this because it's what you are used to, but to actively take the time to misspell words to a reflect a dialect that makes you sound uneducated is baffling.

Add to that mix an inexperienced coach in McHale and you have a recipe for playoffs?

Youtube videos aside, he's still basically a PF which tells me that they are STILL hoping that Yao will be able to come back and hobble out onto the court. Maybe he'll get motivated when McHale lets him touch his championship rings.

But at 14, what you are hoping to get is "solid". It just has to be proven on the court that he can play the 3 full time. I personally feel that he's too slow to be a star SF but he looks to be a good rotation player for the Rox down the line unless Morey decides to trade him to LA for Artest.
