This 7 footer is going to end up like every other piece of euro trash that comes into the NBA. Dirk and Pau had the desire and the will to become great. Motiejunas is a lazy bum. He once missed a game in europe because he wanted to go to a party instead. He also said in a interview last year, which was conducted in Lithuanian, that he does not have to work hard in the NBA because he feels his skills and game are better then almost every player in the NBA. The interview aired on local TV in Panevėžys. He does not have the character of a true rocket.

The good news is that, unbelievably, Morey saved himself Courtney Lee, #23, and Jordan Hill, all while accomplishing the same things.

The bad news is that, it seems CXbby Jr. will belong to DM.

 

I wonder what DM could pull off with that asset lol

Any news on the press conference in Houston this afternoon? IIRC, Morey mentioned that it was supposed to go down around 1-2 PM...

As far as physical tools go, I wanted to compare Marcus Morris' potential as a SF. His ability to play that spot will depend on whether he can guard the 3 spot in the NBA. A lot of people wanted Leonard with that our #14 because his natural position "fits" a need on our team.
Most will say that Kawhi is a plus defender. If you take a closer look at their measurements the two are about the same height (6'6" vs 6'7"), weight (227 vs 230), max reach, sprint times. Marcus is actually bigger, stronger, jumps higher, and has that inert toughness/competitiveness to be a capable defender at the SF spot. Also, considering that our current option at SF is a stellar defender in Chase, I don't see why people are not sold on whether Marcus will be able to play heavy minutes at the 3.
In addition, the toughest matchups for the SF are the bigger types like Pierce, Lebron, Anthony. None of them are lightning quick but rely much more on their size to bully opponent defenders.

On offense, Marcus has a solid mid range game and has the ability to take one or two dribbles to create his own shot. He is not a good 3 point shooter as Chase (who is still inconsistent with his shot) but has a respectable enough shot to create ample spacing. Imho, I think that Morris is more of a SF in the NBA that can match up against the quick 4's rather than the other way around.

At the end of the day, as long as he is about the same offensively as Chase, I'm certain that he is a better defender that Bud, therefore is a better option.

I forgot to mention that one of his greatest strengths is his efficiency in the post. As a SF, he would absolutely destroy smaller players in the paint on offense. He would be one of the most skilled SF in the NBA at posting up right off the bat. The only thing I'm not sure about with him is his ball handing ability.

I can see Morris in starting lineup over Bud at the beginning of the season. Bud and Morris are in the same tier when it comes to offense, but Morris' defense is way better than Bud's. All of the haters will eat their words soon enough.
