Tmac is like a deadbeat dad though. Both lazy and like to pass the blame

Good intentions don't really matter if you're not producing on the court. I'm pretty sure Stephon Marbury wanted to win 20 championships for the Knicks when he still played there, but unfortunately that didn't happen.

Anyway this comment is a big "meh". For one thing people are basing it on the 2004 season when Yao reached his peak, that's obviously a small sample size since DH was only 19 back then. Obviously 25 year old Yao vs 19 year old DH who would win? Even when Yao was 28, DH was only 23 years old and hasn't filled out his body at the time. Now DH is already 26, can hit 3 pointers and has a decent mid-range shot. I think he's much better than Yao even when fully healthy.

A fronting defense would still torture Yao, even if 150% healthy.

    ----TMac 'fake' injury
----Mutombo career ending injury (this was really sad)
----Yao 2 season ending injury +? (this was even sadder)

That team was ready to win the championship if not . . .

I am almost ready to just let Yao go down as a hero player whose body just couldn't keep up.

I will always remember Yao for the first mathup with Shaq. I think Yao had four quick points and a block of Shaq in the opening minutes.

Yao destroyed Dh year after year after year up to May 2009. Again even when DH was winning all nba 1st team andf DPOY award, Yao destroyed him h2h. If Yao was healthy he would still destroy Howard until Yao reaches mid 30s.

Marbury and Tmac were selfish players with bad attitudes me first mindsets and poor work ethic. Yao's is injury prone. He is more like a Grant Hill.

Every single Yao vs. Dwight Howard match up, Dwight Howard got owned like a step-child by Yao Daddy. Check the facts.

Now we all know you're a blind, uneducated, and unemployed lunatic that lives in mommy and daddy's basement. That was clearly a foul on Nate Robinson.

Don't forget to take your meds. :)

When did he say this? Around what pick did he say it? And what spurred him to say such a thing?

and who can forget the pulling the chair away defense resulting yao falling to the floor into an easy travelling violation (once lead all centers in turnovers)? yao was a great player, but kinda failed to correct some of the weaknesses in his post game.

"Good intentions" matter depending on what actions to take to actuate those intentions. Are you under the impression that Marbury worked like Yao and contributed to the team like Yao did? You pretty sure that Starbury's first priority was the Knicks winning? The Starbury I saw played like his first second and third priority was pretty much Starbury himself. Wonder which Knicks season you were watching...

What's the word for clueless in Mandarin.

    2009-04-07 Yao 20 pts/16 trb Howard 13/10 Houston wins
    2008-11-22 Yao 22/13 Howard 31/9 Houston wins
    2008-1-04 Yao 26/10 Howard 16/8 Houston wins
    2007-12-19 Yao 19/17 Howard 21/11 ORL wins
    2007-01-11 Yao 37/7 Howard 16/12 Houston wins
    2006-03-11 Yao 29/11 Howard 7/9 Houston wins
    2005-11-08 Yao 17/4 Howard 12/11 ORL wins
    2005-1-21 Yao 22/10 Howard 4/11 Houston wins
    2005-01-20 Yao 20/7 Howard 8/7 Houston wins

    CAREER HEAD TO HEAD

    YAO: 23.6 PTS 10.4 TRB .561FG% .789FT% 7 wins 2 losses
    HOWARD: 12.2 PTS 9.8 TRB .451FG% .6FT% 2 wins 7 losses

You talk about 2004 as your "sample size." Howard didn't even PLAY in the houston games in 2004. Well I guess there's a certain logic to the idea that if your sample size is ZERO then you can draw any fanciful conclusions you like without backing it up with data.

In the real world as you can see from 2005-2009 Howard was straight dominated by Yao in all facets even rebounding. If Yao was regressing after 2004, then I guess Howard spent his entire career regressing as well since Howard couldn't even beat Yao in ALL OF 2008 plus 2009. Just really ignorant post.

As for Yao peaking in 2004. Take a look at the first game of the 2009 playoffs when Yao was unstoppable.

You straight trolling or just really short term memory?

Jeff Van Gundy makes a lot of comments. And nearly every one of those comments has a lot of dependencies attached. Ignoring the "healthy" part...

Yes Jeff. Yao would torture "true" Centers. That's an easy call on a micro aspect of a macro circumstance. Now the bad news corollary.

You...and/or your management...have surrounded him with standstill spot up shooters who can't get their own shot. This allows the defense to easily front the not very mobile Yao.

When healthy and when not fronted....just didn't happen often enough.
