Absolutely loved this draft. Motiejunas is going to be for us what toni kukoc was for the Jordan era bulls. We have a very athletic front court with great length, pending out new center, whoever that may be.

Obviously nobody on clutch fans watched any Kansas bball and the fact that the Rockets staff were sighted at almost every KU game means they obviously know what he brings to the table. Morris is projected to be a sf in the NBA who has a deadly shot inside and outside. The only question is if he can handle quicker sf's on defense.

Patterson is a beast of a power forward and will thrive in the paint with his great length and rebounding abilities. Whatever he brings to the table on offense is a bonus.

keep this poll up. I bet top dollar the difference gets smaller as people learn to like Morris. I like Patterson, but Morris is just as good, and could potentially be better.

Also, not sure why we're comparing morris to patterson, as i see both on the court at the same time. It should be Morris vs. Bud and Williams.

If this true and he can truly play the 3 spot. Than this could be another surprise winner for Morey. Okay I know I lost my cred by posting Leonard. What I wanted most out of this draft was Derrick Williams and then Biyombo. Since those weren't possible. I wanted a strong SF that could handle a Lebron James. Bud is too weak and no matter what he does he will never overcome that. So when I looked on the board after Biyombo went all I say was Leonard. I knew he didn't have a great offensive game but his solid rebounding and hands and defensive skills could eventually give us some physical presence to at least slow down a Lebron a little. That's why I wanted him.

So that didn't work out and I thought man we drafted Patrick Patterson again. ANother solid undersized PF but we didn't. If all the reports are true the Rockets see Marcus as a SF and I do too. At least now. The kid has handles as good as leonard. He is a much better offensive player than leonard. He isn't the rebounder and doesn't have as much reach but for a SF he is above average.

SO if Leonard is a SF than so is Marcus. Kansas just didn't need that from him. Plus the kid is a winner and is more polished than Leonard. So all the things I hoped Leonard could bring at the SF, I think Marcus might actually do better except rebounding and physicality and he is not bad in either.
After I watched him I tried to think in terms of Battier and how he played the SF and I see Marcus as a much better offesive player with more athleticism.

SO while he will never be confused for Lebron James he could give us a physical efficient offensive player with a toughness that BUD will never have! And it with a player like Keven Martin at the SG we need a physical guy like Marcus. I got all of that from watching film and reading about him just now! Plus it doesn't hurt that I read the Lakers had Marcus at the number 5 on their chart. And I know Rudy has a lot of input in scouting their players.

So I bet when Marcus dropped the Rockets were just as happy with him as they were with PPat last year. And if all of this true than the comparison as you said should be Morris vs. Bud and Williams. And I am very hopeful he will win going away.

Power forwards: Chuck Hayes, Luis Scola, Patrick Patterson, Jordan Hill, Donatas Montejius, Marcus Morris, Chandler Parsons. Half of our 15 player roster has the natural position of power forward. Wf is going on?

If RA was still pacing the sidelines, he'd be on the pine for the majority of the game, but now that McHale's running the show and a youth movement's in store, I wouldn't be surprised if Morris gets an opportunity to hold down the 3-spot very early in the season.

I'm looking forward to seeing this unit run the break...

    Lowry
    Lee
    Morris
    Patterson
    Motiejunas
