A lot of mocks have the Rockets taking Morris with the 14th overall pick. If the Rockets took Morris obviously him and Patterson would be battling for that future four spot. Who do you think has the potential to be the better player?

They are the same player. I guess you could have two of the same players and be stacked at that position. Id take Patrick because he looks like he has the makings to be a premiere lockdown defender at his position and not just his good offense.

If we draft Marcus Morris his going to be playing SF. He has the skill and enough lateral quickness to make the transition to SF in the NBA. He just played out position in college...

I haven't watched Morris 1/4 as much as Patterson. I doubt many people here have. Being in the Big 12 I did get to see him play 7-8 games last year, so my comparisons are based soley on that.

There was a point where I would have said Morris. However, PPat showed more athleticism, this season, than I knew he was capable of. Enough to where I'd almost say it's a wash between the two physically. The outside shot seems about equal as well. Marcus has a frame that will hold more muscle, and only 1/2" shorter in shoes. I'd say Patterson is definitely more polished than Morris with his footwork. I think he was when he came out last year as well. Due to the large wingspan advantage, I have to go with Patterson. They are so similar it has to come down to a few key differences. Those differences are what mire Morris in the "tweener" role.

    how about markieff instead?

he seems to be a legit big man with defense and physicality. him and patpat would man the boards for years to come.

Morris will primarily be playing at the 3... he'll have the opportunity to abuse smaller forwards on the low block with his polished back-to-the-basket game. He can finish over either shoulder, and and was apparently knocking down the 3-ball with ease during his workouts.

I don't know Flynn's contract status, but if they clear Yao's contract (he either retires or signs for the minimum) they should have cap space now to sign a legit center right?
