I want to draft Jonas Valanciunas but not if we are giving up Kevin Martin. I would also have to warm up to Patterson or Lowry leaving.

IMO we sould trade for young NBA players with up-side on the wrong team and let TWolf be the TWolfs with all their high picks:

    K. Martin & C. Bub (maybe the 23rd) for M. Beasley & W. Johnson

-This HELPS round out both teams if we use the 14th on a big and they pick up Williams with the 2nd...

How do you define "idiotic"? Everyone has their own different perspectives on "good", or "bad". The Gasol deal seemed "idiotic", didn't it

Before posting, READ THIS GREAT POST

If people think, just because Kahn is spreading this BS on the media, that they might get Pau or Bynum type players for that #2 pick, you are being naive. Teams around the league know they have Beasley, and if they draft DW they would have to trade one of them, and if they draft Kanter, the combo Love-Kanter (potentially) would be pretty one dimension.

Kahn wants this kind of ball changers, but there is no way he gets them, for a #2 pick(alone), in a top weak draft, where the % of drafting a non great player is higher then usual, DW BK and EK are not sure elite players at the next level, for different reasons.

Kahn can spin it like he wants. but he NEEDS to trade that pick, or trade Beasley, and this last tweet, where Kahn says that Kanter #2 is a great pick, doing everything for GMs to think he is happy with the pick, regardless of drafting DW or EK proves he wants to trade that pick bad (because DW is clearly #2 pick in this draft IMO). The truth is, teams know that they can underpay for that pick because the wolves are in a difficult situation, and one clear example, is the "rumored" offer, that LA did for that pick (after the Pau to the wolves one) Odom for the #2 pick.

That mus be true because Odom for the number 2 pick is like offering them a 6th man type player for the #2 pick.

So far i don't see or hear of anyone offering a Kevin Martin type player for that #2 pick. Other than the Nash rumor that was shot down. If Morey can pull off a Martin for the #2 pick and still get #10 for our two 1st round picks, this could turn out to be a very successful draft for the wizard.

Have you seen this guy play? Personally I think he has bust written all over him. Yes, he's nearly 7' with a 7'4" reach but he moves slower than Yao Ming, yet he's totally raw offensively. Defensively he's so slow he'll never be able to rotate or defend quicker players.

Thats all true. But whos to judge/decide what "lacks thought", or "lacks common sense?"

    That is all subjective.

Good post. the Tracy-Yao era was a logical try and rebuilding without tanking has been good so far. It just needs to go one or two steps further and Morey is certainly trying.

...you know, when considering David Kahn's moves - I'll say this: the guy is an awful bull****ter but he kind of believes the bs he spews AND he clearly has a soft spot for underachievers and the recently overrated. I don't know what that means for this year's draft but expect the unexpected and potentially asinine.

Come on Morey. You can do it. Martin + a 2012 1st rounder to sweeten the deal. Take on a bad contract if you have to.

if you would have stopped at "bust written all over him" I would have just left you to your own opinion, which obviously you have the right to. Unfortunately, you provided reasoning that is idiotic (word of the day or at least this thread page) and have now given me reason to believe that you may or may not have eyeballs.

How about a three way trade

    Houston Receives: 2nd pick

    Philly Receives: Scola

    Minnesota Receives: Iggy

Houston does it in order to receive 2nd pick and can trade Scola with Patterson and Hill waiting in the wings

Philly does it cause they wanna drop Iggy and have been looking for a big man and Scola fits the part

Minny does it cause they've been trying to trade their pick for a veteran star and Iggy is perfect at SG for them

I think the average team does far worse than the Tracy-Yao era. They go in a direction, make some reaches that don't pan out, then they end up being far worse than a .500 team for several years.

DM took that team and turned it into a younger team with no bad contracts that never got to the really sucky level, and is on its way up. To think this is incompetent GMing is quite silly.
