I am not a GM. Its his job to find out as GM and not me to do it for him. I will ask him those questioons why he couldnt get anyone next time if it happens again. Hopefully he gives you a good answer and it doesnt happen again in this years draft or free agency for me to have to ask him or you to ask him. Hopefully if it does? It doesnt happen the year after. Whatever he as GM should do? Thats up to him and only he knows what those moves could have been.
But since you asked? We dont have Artest, Brooks, Battier anymore. We got nearly nothing for losing any of them. So there is three guys we could have traded.
Its true that its impossible for you to know what's available, but that's the case for any criticism of any GM. That'd be like saying, "Ed Wade, why didn't you get us a great, all star pitcher this year? I don't know if you had the opportunity but I'm going to criticize you because hell, MAYBE the Giants offered Lincecum for Pence." You can only criticize a GM for the decisions he did make, not hypothetical ones we have no idea if he could've. Morey's decisions have been fantastic! The things he missed on (Francis, Ariza, Bonzi) were all low risk, high reward moves that were just let go or turned into something positive (C.Lee).
Thats true and really I am just gonna enjoy this draft. I dont dont he makes one minor move or stays and drafts real well again. I am only hoping he tries to hit a homerun. I have a good feeling and it has been long enough. Who knows? the 14th pick could turn into a star? Kobe got picked at number 13...
WRONG, again... Artest was basically a swap for Ariza which we traded for cap relief AND Courtney Lee = win Aaron Brooks was an expiring that we were not going to resign and basically lose for nothing, Morey moves him for our current 23rd (which could possibly help us move up in this draft or position ourselves for next years) and a starting caliber PG in Goran Dragic = win again Battier was another expiring that we would have lost for nothing had we kept him on the roster and we net a #2 overall 7 footer. Good or bad we have yet to determine but it's sure as hell better than sitting on your hands and saying "oh well" = TBD So that's 2 and a possible. Good enough in my book. Jeez some of you guys & gals are so narrow minded on this board. Get a grip, really.
Its too hard for me to get a grip. I always get pumped for draft, free agency, and the start of the season.
Aaaaah, so glad I've avoided the board and the sour pusses for a while. Morey is STILL getting overly criticized for trading #8 pick in 2006 and not getting Rudy Gay. Thats where the majority of the heat is coming from. Its made all his following moves look more suspect than they need to be.
Thats just a flat out lie. We got Dragic and a 1st round pick for AB and Thabeet and a 1st round pick for Shane. Never in my wildest dreams did I think DM could get a 1st for Shane.
