http://www.eutimes.net/2011/06/china-wants-to-build-a-50-square-mile-city-in-the-us/ From what was discussed on the radio, this city will be the first of many would be autonomous from the US government, US laws etc... It will have it's own city government, police etc... and answer to China and be subject to Chinese laws instead. It will be self sustaining, meaning require little from the US to function thus little to no economic gain for the country and they will import Chinese workers thus provide very few job opportunities for US Citizens. It will even have its own airport allowing flights to and from China free of US customs checks, passport requirements etc.... It will be like them flying from one Chinese city to the next. However it will require passports for Americans or others to enter. If true the implications are pretty scary, nothing like laying the ground work for a take over from within.
I wasn't aware that the US constitution did not apply to buildings built by foreign countries. I guess that German construction company that's expanding the light rail here won't be subject to Department of Transportation rules on trains. Didn't realize that hiring laws don't apply either. Or that US immigration laws don't matter and the Chinese can grant visas to its own citizens that apply to a foreign country. Man immigration law is weird. **** the FAA doesn't have any authority over this either? And I have to bring my passport to visit a city in America? ****. Are they going to institute Sharia law?
Ah, conservative talk radio: the misplaced intellectual confidence of middle-aged white guys mixed with the deep-seated xenophobia of, well, you know.
Is this the European Onion site? Talk about nuts. Next thing you know, China to over take US in science in two years. US is going to war with China and Russia. What a web site.
Nothing screams China like Idaho. I'm excited to be able to get to China without having to cross the Pacific.
How the hell do people read something like this and believe it? BTW, the article has a 'source' link at the bottom of it. Don't click it. Popups started kicking in like crazy almost immediately. lol
..the only reason something ridiculous like this would ever actually happen would be because of the free market.
