[rquoter]The 76ers are continuing to explore trade options for Andre Iguodala, and league sources said that a deal with the Lakers involving Lamar Odom has been discussed recently.

While it's unclear whether the deal has real potential or is still alive, it's yet another sign that the Sixers are determined to land an impact player while improving their salary-cap situation in any trade for their second-leading scorer and top defender. Iguodala is owed a combined $44 million for the next three seasons (including $13.5 million next season), while Odom is set to make $8.9 million next season in the final guaranteed year of his contract.

The deal would have to include another Lakers player in order to work under salary-cap rules. One of the sources said the Lakers might include small forward Ron Artest, who will be paid $21.7 million over the next three seasons and has an early-termination option for 2013-14.

Iguodala is in play for Minnesota as well, according to a rival general manager who called the possibility of the Sixers acquiring the No. 2 pick in a package for their 27-year-old swingman "definitely real." The Timberwolves have been seeking a high-level veteran in exchange for the second selection in Thursday's draft and other pieces. [/rquoter]

I hope he goes Minny...It's actually not bad trade for them, considering there isn't a sure thing at #2, but i'd try to get an extra late pick.

    What???

    Odom and Artest for Iggy??

    What a rip off.

If they are trying to dump his contract, Artest's contract is long term, which is a bad contract...

I hope they let the Sixers in on the conversation. :)

Why in the world would Minnesota do a #2 for Iggy with the amount of money he's owed, when they could just draft Williams? I know Iggy is more 2/3 than 3/4, but still.

Haha, yeah might be a little helpful(and necessary):p

I'm not sure Kahn knows what hes doing or what he wants. I take that latter part back, I think Kahn wants any "star" he can get his hands on.

Nowadays Lakers are in every rumor. If history repeats itself, a Lakers trade rumor is always a smokescreen.

I guess they were figuring that they would have to match slaries and would like to get rid of Artest, so why not kill two birds with one stone? Still, wishful thinking.

It would be nice if the Rockets could get in on that. Something like Scola, #14 and #23 for Iggy and #8. Probably doesn't save them quite the money they are looking for long-term.

I think Kahn is trying to collect enough assets to swing for vets that are already signed long term. If you look at every rumor they're involved with, they're trading for a player that's already locked in. I think that's the only way Kahn is going to keep his job and the way Minny can turn this around. They have too many young guys and not enough vets to lead this guys.

I believe their 2012 pick is already promised to another team which is also going to put a lot of pressure on Kahn to land someone... I see Kahn trying to mirror what Danny Angie did in Boston.

As far as Odom, Teams worried he won't b happy or motivated outside of LA. That's decreasing his value on market....

Hmm even if Odom would be happy there, 76ers would end up worse than before. They get older, their best playmaker/defender is gone, and Lakers have no draft picks to offer them.

Add in Terrence Williams as well, he plays similar to Iggy.

If I heard Ric Bucher correctly, Odom/Walton for Iguodala(again, if I heard correctly). Says Odom has been on the block. I assume this is only discussions at this point.

6ers don't make this trade to get better right away. They make it to cut loose Iggy whose contract is not worth it.

The only reason I read this thread is to find out the details of the Minny/76er trade that landed Iggy in Minnesota.
