Understood, and I like your proposal better. :) We clearly need a center and free agency hasn't been our friend in this quest.

One question, do you like Donatas Motienunas better than Chris Singleton if both are there at 14? It could potentially go down that way. They look like two totally different players neither of whom resemble anything we currently have on our roster. Like my Dad always jokes, I feel strongly both ways on this one.

Donatas Motienunas is said to have Dirk Nowitzki like skills , but lacks the commitment or desire like Dirk. If the rockets get him and he fulfills half of his potential , he will be considered as the biggest steal of this draft.

I know the question was not for me but I take Singleton over Donatas and would feel lucky for it.

I wonder if the Bucks would be willing to give us the 10th pick for Courtney Lee+ another asset(player). It was reported that they also liked Chase Budinger. Maybe Courtney Lee + Budinger could get it done.

I would probably give Milwaukee Scola for #10. I don't think it is quite value for Scola, but IMO we wont be getting value for Luis if we trade him.

You take #10 and #14 and #23 and get into the top 4. Kanter, Williams or even Knight would give us a young signature player to start building around. This guy won't end up as our #1 when we are contending, but he will be #2-3.

Yeah, good thinking -- Scola would be a great compliment to Bogut inside. Could put them right in the mix for home-court advantage for the playoffs in the eastern conference.

Getting 4 top 25 draft picks? Highly unlikely, but just thinking about it gets me excited.

Unfortunately the Bucks are a little heavy at the 4 (if I remember correctly).

If Bobcat's player is off the board, maybe we can leapfrog the Bucks for Jonas?

Is it possible for the Rockets to make a trade with the Bucks where they don’t have to take salary back? I was thinking the Kings were under the cap, but not sure with anyone else. Can the Rockets trade players for picks with anone?

Gery Woelfel of Racine Journal Times

    http://cbshouston.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/gery-woelfel-6-22-11.mp3

Gary Woelfel, looking at your report about a potential trade between Bucks and the Rockets, how comfortable are you with that report?

Yeah. Very comfortable. I've confirmed with three or four different people. This doesnt mean the trade will go down. Im saying they have been talking about a potential trade. You know in the NBA, anything can happen and they might not agree on it but...Last summer I did a report on Yao and his future with the Rockets was in jeopardy. I caught all sorts of flack with that and I think that was born out later on.

So, the deal you mentioned featured Patrick Patterson and Ersan Ilyasova, what else or who else would be involved that you heard?

In the story, I said they've discussed several different scenarios. They brought up a bunch of names. I listed a couple but by no means was that inclusive. From what I understand, the Bucks were still trying to figure out who they precisely wanted and I had speculated that, having known the Bucks draft plans the last couple years, they did like Patrick Patterson and Jordan Hill. I have no doubts they would like those two players. I have since talked to some people and they do like Courtney Lee as well.

    Who doesnt?

Yeah exactly. Could be any combination of two players, might be one player but the specifics as of last night werent finalized.

Have you heard the #10 pick would be involved as well?

Yeah. It would definitely be the #10 pick going to the Rockets. What I would think if I'm a Rockets fan that would intrigue me is that ideally the Rockets would love to move up to 10 where the Bucks are. Once they get to 10, they want to weep up again and try to get into the 6-8 range. I think thats interesting. Not sure how they would come back and do that. Their ultimate goal is to get a big man.

If they get into the 6-8 range, is Kanter the target?

Well I think the guy everyone wants because everyone is afraid of him right now is Valanciunas. I talked to a long time Western Conference scout today who I really respect, he said next to Kyrie Irving, he thinks Valanciunas will be best player in this draft. The problem is he got a messy contract hes in right now. Could be similar to Ricky Rubio situation the last 2 years. Some teams, with Jonas, think he could stay in Europe 1 year, if not 2, so a bunch of a teams are scared of his situation right now.

Milwaukee a funny team because it seems like they get big names guys and spend money on guys but the team doesnt go anywhere. How close are they to contending?

They are team schizophrenia. Just when you think they're good, they fall apart. 2 years ago they take Hawks to 7 games and look like they're on their way. Last year they lay an egg. A lot of that due to injuries. Bogut, Delfino, Gooden, right down the line - they were ravaged by injuries. Theres people in the Bucks camp that think if we can add one or two decent players here, we'll get back into the mix.

You cover them, give us a thumbnail on Ersan Ilyasova. Lets say for the sake of argument, he becomes a Rocket. Good and bad about him in your opinion.

Start with the bad: hes a tweener. Has trouble guarding quick SFs. As a PF, hes undersized and not physical. Flip side is: hes a great offensive player. Stretch four. To me hes a poor mans Dirk Nowitzki. Not afraid to take the 20-25 foot shot. If hes open, he'll take it. There have been a few games the last year and year before where he had 25 points or more. THis guy could be a prolific scorer if given the chance to play 30 minutes a game. Tremendous upside. Only 23 I think so. Im a big fan. Think the Bucks would make a huge mistake getting rid of him.

    Not much on D huh?

Hes ok. Hes a very good rebounder for his size. Not physical, more finesse player. He doesnt like taking it to the hole. Hes strictly a jump shot perimeter type shooter.

    Appreciate it.

    Sounds good. Thanks guys.

One of them would have to work then, wouldn't it?

I'm sure the plan is to trade up to #2, then trade back to something between #4 and #7 in order to take Jonas while gaining an additional pick to grab someone else he likes. He will be then be able to get a king's ransom for the rights to Jonas next year.

We should target the bobcat's #9 pick and a 2012 pick Marcus Morris.
In: Tyrus, #9, 2012 draft pick,
    Out: Scola, T-will, #14

Then trade Lee and #23 for Asik

I think they are going after Kanter. Jonas' contract situation is way too messy for us to wait on.

I'd clean house to get the top lottery picks in the draft.

Number 23 + Courtney Lee + Chase Budinger for Number 10

    Number 14 + Dragic for Number 8

    Number 8 + Number 10 + Jordan Hill + Next year's NY pick for Number 2

I'd just give the Bucks Luis Scola.

Luis Scola would definitely take them back to the EC Playoffs.

Scola for number 10 pick + fillers straight up,

Not sure if the Bucks do this,

    Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
    Larry Sanders
    Ersan Ilyasova
    Drew Gooden
