Looks like the big majority of his mintues were at the PF spot. Trading our only SF for another PF makes no sense..

I don't know. See what Utah needs. Utah already has plenty of money sunk into Jefferson and Turkcan at center. Kanter at #3 seems about right. If Utah can snare Fredette and, say, Singleton (#10 and their own #12), then Morey can always find a way to get Utah to bite. Add the Memphis pick? Add the #23 if still available, + whatever?

Kanter is probably the "get" for Morey in this draft. (Coincidence that Kanter and Ilyasova are both Turkish.)

Unless there were plans to trade one of those other PFs.

Morey must be one no-sleep dude these days.

    Excellent post!!
Besides giving them the 8th pick for Asik the great , we should also give them Kevin Martin and Lee .. so that its a fair trade on both sides ..

It is just one of many possible alternatives for the # 10 pick as we all try to digest what this trade could mean if true. Obviously I never suggested trading K-Mart in fact I said just the opposite that we could go wing with the lower pick as a backup in the event of injury to Bud or K-Mart.

No one said you have to like a potential scenario. It is easy to be just a flame thrower. Perhaps you could take a chance and tell us what scenario you see coming to land a more legit center at # 10 in this draft than Chuck Hayes? So what is your brilliant idea for the pick? Biyombo? No thanks, I don't want to play 4 against 5 on offense even worse than we already do (and he is huge boom or bust potential)!!! Free agent? Not likely given we already had two years trying that route with no success at all!!! Trade, well who do you propose. Lets hear it from you, or do you just get off on fabricating cheap shots?

Doing a live chat at Chron.com at noon. Will discuss draft in general and Rockets' options, including potential deals to move into top 10.

Yeah that scenario you describe could be right. If Morey can do that, then Morey could definitely get Kanter.

I think Minnesota will select Kanter no.2 overall. So Utah will select a PG. I don't think Morey has ever traded with Utah either.

    How about

    Houstin in:
    Bogut
    Korver
    Salmons
    #10, #28, & #30

    Milwaukee in:
    Asik
    B. Miller
    K. Martin
    Budinger
    #14 &#23

    Bulls in:
    Lee
    Hill

    Houston's 2011/12 Line-up:
    Lowry/Dragic
    Salmons/Korver
    ________/Williams
    Scola/Patterson/Hayes
    Bogut/Hayes/Thabeet

    Milwaukee's 2011/12 Line-up:
    Jennings/Doyling
    Martin/CDR
    Maggette/Budinger/Ilayosova
    Mbah a Moute/L. Sanders/Gooden
    Asik/B. Miller/ #14 (Nikola Vucevic (?))

    Bull's 2011/12 Line-up
    Rose/Watson
    Lee/Bogans/Brewer
    Deng/Butler
    Boozer/Gibson
    Noah/Hill/Thomas
With the #10 pick the Rockets could do a number of things with teams that want to get Jimmer but need to leap frog the Jazz.

#28 and #30 could be used on Jeremy Tyler and Tyler Honeycutt?

I'm not sure this gets done as is and I really didn't want to include Patterson to Milwaukee, but that could possibly be necessary. If that were the case, I would want Larry Sanders back as well.

    Thoughts?

It does seem to me that, if the Rox trade to move up, then trade their higher picks for player(s), they are targeting something a good bit more than just Omer Asik.
