Read more: http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_...innesota?xid=cnnbin&hpt=hp_bn10#ixzz1Q0p0VfUK I know it is just a rumor but I think it makes sense for the Lakers.. What do you guys think?
Of course it makes sense for the Lakers. Going from Pau to Love is not much of a downgrade in production (if it is one at all), saves a ton of money, and you're throwing in the second pick in the draft.
Lakers would be complete idiots if they dont accept this. Your telling me they can keep Bynum at the 5, add Kevin Love to the 4, and draft Derrick Williams to play the 3 and possibly semi-replace Kobe? Not only did they just get better but they got younger in the process.
wow, if they give up on Love AND the 2nd pick for Pau Gasol then this will be Khan's masterpiece. He probably thinks Gasol has Wilt Chamberlain type qualities. <iframe width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bnSarFflUxU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I wouldn't even do love for gasol straight up if I were the wolves. So of course they would throw in the second pick. This has the potential of being as one sided as when they got gasol.
Wolves want any "star" they can get their hands on. DraftExpress Jonathan Givony As one GM told me last night: "Now is the time to throw EVERYTHING against the wall and hope SOMETHING sticks tomorrow." Believe nothing. And I'm not talking about the Nash thing. I've heard Minnesota is indeed calling every NBA team offering trades for every player they covet.
So some agree it makes sense for the lakers but for mini it might be good for the fans to see spain's potentially best duo together.. "the Spaniard" as Kobe called him when he got his fifth ring was not at his best past season but he is still a proven player.. Heck he was even considered by some in the garm as the best PF present.. It think it might also help the wolves
You think the Wolves are calling Houston for Martin or Scola? Geez, the rich would get richer here. I would never give up #2 and Love for Gausoft.
If this happens, Kahn is more r****ded than I thought he was. Love for Gasol is already not that good of a deal for minny, why da hell would you throw in a #2.......
I wanna say I'm surprised, but I'm not. The Lakers pretty much always stay in contention cause of crap like this. How does Kahn keep his damn job? I wouldn't even trade Love for Gasol straight up, but to add the #2 pick also?smmfh
Can't see how the Lakers get Kevin Love and the #2 pick for Pau Gasol... if they can, I'd be floored. That's what makes me sick about the state of the Rockets. They don't have any young thoroughbred talent and have yet to be able to find the pieces to trade for one, and here would be the Lakers picking up two prime rebuilding pieces in a snap. Don't see this as a real possibility though.
Is Kahn trying to get himself run out of town? This is a terrible trade for Minny. Give up Beasley, not Love.
i dont get it why do all this for Rubio who has yet to play one game in the NBA, why trade the only meaningful player and all-star you have had since Kevin Garnett away in hopes that this new guy can help and make Rubio comfortable...Gasol is 30 and has a few more good to great years left in him while Love is just entering his 20s. This isn't even mentioning the #2 pick I dont care how weak a draft is, there will generally be at least 2-3 all-stars from every draft...Heck Gasol was the #3 pick in one of the weakest drafts ever and now he is one of the best PFs in the NBA
I would trade Scola, Martin, Budinger, #14 for Love and #2. That tops the highly unlikely rumor reported above. Scola isn't spanish, or as good as Gasol, but is plenty solid and a spanish-speaking foreign player to help Rubio "get comfortable". Seems like a fair trade. Giving up a lot, but would still have: Lowry / Dragic Lee / T-Will Williams (if drafted) / [ ] Love / Patterson Hayes / Hill ^ that team won't win a ton of games, but has some nice young talent, and if Williams panned out to be a Granger/Iguodala type, and you followed up with a strong 2012 draft, then you are finally on the road to somewhere.
This trade would make the wolves better in the short term. Long term no. If Rubio was not on the team this move would make zero sense. But Rubio is on the team and Pau and Rubio no each others game and know how to play with each other. For the Lakers I think this deal takes them out of the title hunt for next season but positions them better for the future. The wolves need to put butts in seats and this move would do it for sure.
