I want Yao to sign for the min. He owes the team that much for doing nothing but get fat in the last two years.

As a player, I wouldn't resign Yao because of his history of injuries. But I would love for him to be part of the team as either an assistant coach so he can help coach young developing big man or a mentor for young players.

Sadly, I've got to agree with this. The chances are pretty high in my opinion that he plays in less than 15 games for the rest of his career, if not less. I love Yao just as much as the next guy, but I think his playing days are very limited now. If he's able to play this season, great, he'll be fun to watch, and if he can't, then we'll thank him for all he's done and for giving his all every game. I hope he's able to come back, but we shouldn't risk paying more than the veteran minimum for him.

 

What disappoints me to no end is how our superstars' bodies broke down way before they even turned thirty. No one, but both of them. Meanwhile, we have Jurassic park players who are closer to getting an AARP card than a drivers license still playing in the league and winning a ring to boot.

As a life-long Rocket fan, life is sometimes a damn biatch.

Why would you be talking about Yao in a negative light back then anyways? He was only the best center in basketball back then and carrying the franchise.
