So what has to fall in place for him to fall to #10? I think #10 might be the highest we'd be able to trade up, and Valanciunas would have to be off the board for Milwaukee to do the deal apparently.

I haven't read every page of this thread.

Check the title of the thread...

Rumor is.. if Valanciunas does not fall to #10, Milwaukee is open to trading #10 for #14 and #23. Far from a guarantee, and now that our alleged offer is in the press, other teams know what they need to offer to beat it. We'll see what happens.

I believe it came from DraftExpress originally.

Our biggest competition for him IMO will be Charlotte. Their biggest holes are SF and C. If all the Cs are off the board, and all the conventional SFs are off the board, I think they will take a shot with Morris, hoping he can turn into a SF. That's if we take what Paul Silas said about him at face value. Maybe it was smoke screen?

Anyways, for Morris to fall past Charlotte there are 2 scenarios IMO.

    1. Sacromento reaches on Jimmer. This will likely push one of the traditional SFs down to Charlotte- Vesley or Leonard. I think they take those ahead of Morris.

    2. Detroit reaches on Tristan Thompson or another PF projected lower. That would also push one for the SFs down or even one of the Cs(Jonas V). I don't think Jonas drops below Charlotte with that being one of their needs, nor do the SFs.

In both those cases, Morris would drop to 10 with Jonas already off the board.

If neither of those scenarios happen, the only way to sidestep Charlotte is to trade for 7 or 8. I don't think it is a coincidence that we've been rumored for both(along with 10), yet no word on 9.

True, but on the other hand, Sacromento and Detroit now know we have a contingency plan, and may want to lower their asking price if they really want to move down.

Is it me, or there is absolutely no way Valanciunas drops to #10?

And I don´t believe DM already agreed in principle with anybody.

There is still a lot of time before the draft, Morey knows how to play the game, don´t show your hand, and be aggressive with the feedback you are getting.

Perhaps package #10 in a variety of ways for a vet or a higher pick? I doubt it's necessarily a better pick we need to draft outright. There are so many ways this can play out.

With DM's contract extension of 2 years, I don't know if he can even see the fruits of his labor drafting a prospect that may outlast him. He needs immediate results more that more prospects. If he moves up, chances are it's to package for a player that's established or a good player on the rise. Just my 2 cents in the mix.

BTW I think this is the most likely scenario. Sac has shown that they are not afraid to reach for players they like when they took Tyreke Evans. Jimmer's skill set fits perfectly next to Evans, on a team that was supposedly after a scoring PG like Aaron Brooks. Probably equally as important, Jimmer brings instant revenue and relevance to a financially struggling franchise. I think it makes perfect sense, and the best we can hope for.

    Splash!!!!!!!

Morey finally going to make a big trade that will make this team a contender... Then he will draft a center even though there might be other players that have higher potential and better but they're not centers and hoping his draft will pan out and become the next Hakeem, Shaq or Duncan.

BTW, Alec Burks to me seem like the best player in this draft in the long run. He has some potential to be a great player in this league. I will love to draft this guy with the 10th pick.

Im just hoping Morey dont become desperate for a center or a shot blocker and go out and draft Biyombo or something and waste the 10th pick.

Two teams willing to draft 7-footer Jonas Valanciunas with expectation they could have to wait two years, sources say: Bucks and Warriors.

Teams believe Charlotte has designs on specific player for No. 9. If he's off board, they think 'Cats will trade down to get multiple picks.

Bucks and Warriors - picking 10th and 11th - are mostly enamored with Klay Thompson, sources say. G-State fears he won't be there for them.

But it appears discussions between the Bucks and Rockets involve more than just exchanging picks. The scuttlebutt is both teams are receptive to swapping players as well.

The teams have tossed around different trade scenarios with Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova being prominently mentioned.

While the Bucks like Ilyasova, they have a glut of power forwards: veteran Drew Gooden, whom the Bucks signed as a free agent last summer; Luc Mbah a Moute, who is the team's best defensive player, and Larry Sanders, who they selected in the first round last summer.

It's hardly a secret the Bucks would be interested in Rockets forward Patrick Patterson, whom the Bucks were hoping to land in last summer's draft.

The Bucks could also have interest in Rockets forwards Chase Budinger and Jordan Hill, yet another player they liked in the 2009 draft.

If the Rockets were successful in landing the Bucks' pick, they may try to put together another trade package to move even further up in the draft.

Ilyasova is a decent role player.

I wouldn't mind trading for him, though I'm not sure how he'd fit in.

One thing to consider though is that Ilyasova is said to be seeking a buyout...

Sounds like the deal will have a ton of moving parts. If Jonas V. is gone then the trade happens with another trade already in place with a team above us if they choose the player we like. It has an inception feel to it...get me my totem.

Daryl better be getting his inception on after what happened in 2006 with Brandon Roy. Never again!
