Depends on the price, if we can get him cheap I'd take him and flip him, but I doubt he comes cheap.

If we want to get him, to USE him. He's not going to make us a top-tier team. He's not good enough to build around. He's dumb, inconsistent, and a knucklehead. More talented than anyone on our roster though.

The price would be of his talent, I'd assume. And in such a case, we should pass.

Dear Lord The ultimate Rockets Fan:)

I pray that somehow this curse of mediocrity and defeat can be lifted. Please remove the dead weighted idols (Yao) that so many rockets fans have come to worship. Many have become blinded by their thirst for any kind of victory, that they have settled for wack players (chuck Hayes) and underacheiving coaches (mcfail). I remember when we had a abundance of light, (Hakeem) back before the curse of 2003. When we were among your chosen ones (championship 94,95). Please forgive us of our arrogance from past drafts and wisdomless trades (rudy gaye, richard jefferson). Let us have the sense to remove our bags of molded bread (yao) and move forward into your rocket will.

    amen and amen :)

Josh Smith is a good second option. We still need a first option.

I think something along the lines of this would work

    Orlando recieves: Scola, Thabeet
    Houston recieves: Smith
Atlanta recieves: Nelson, Hill, Richardson(Quentin),#14 and #23, a future first from Orlando

We get Josh Smith, and we could play him at the PF, but play some minutes at the 3. Like 30 minutes at the PF and maybe 5-6 minutes at the 3. His athleticism will be welcome here.

Atlanta gets a good pg in Jameer, he's no Williams, or Rose but he's definitely top 15. Hill can play backup Horford, and Richardson can play be a backup wing. They could use the picks to stay relevant in the future.

Scola will be a good 2nd option in Orlando. His defensive liabilities will not be as noticable with Howard at center. Thabeet can back up Howard.

The good thing is that we are the only western conference team out of his preferred destinations. If Atlanta wants to move him outta the conference, they will consider us first lol.

I just don't see where we can go with Josh Smith. He'll be 26 and that's awesome. But, surely you prob have to give up Kevin Martin and your draft picks. Do you keep Scola at PF or do you trade him for another player like a Granger, or Iggy or picks?

Could this help put us into contention for Dwight/CP3/DWill? Probably not. Who wants to play in our jerseys? lol

rockets fans been b****ing for years about not having a solid inside defender who can block shots. we finally have a chance at landing this type of player who can also score in transistion with ease, and people say we should pass on him?:rolleyes:

Id say we also go after Roy Hibbert, Indiana is willing to deal for him

    Hibbert
    Patterson
    Smith
    Lee
    Lowry

    Enough to win a championship?

No, but maybe get out of the 1st round. This looks like a 50+/year team though. Question - who's the go to guy on this squad?

Don't know that we have anything of true value to offer ATL, but I would love Smith in a Rocket uni. If we could somehow move up in the draft to snag a big man for the hawks & get Smith, that would be a great get, imo. He is a better defender than any player currently on our squad & would arguably be the best shot blocker to wear a Rocket uni since Dream. Make it happen Morey, McHale, & Les!!!!

I might be willing to trade Scola and the 23 pick for Josh. Select Biyombo or Jonas in the lottery.

    Biyombo or Jonas
    Pat
    Smith
    KMart
    Lowry

I would think that would be one hell of an elite defense. There would be a big time block party every single game.

I've coveted Hibbert since he was in school and would be ecstatic if we moved on him.

    ...don't like Smith though...bad attitude.

Attitude is what this team lacks. Kobe Bryant has a bad attitude...get it?
Are team has been soft for years (Yao), we need some toughness on this team for a change.
