Maybe electrolysis will become more affordable over the years. The last time I checked the price was $2500 for chest, back or abdomen. So if you wanted to get all 3 done, $7500. EDIT: Just looked and it appears that the most expensive place to have hair removed by electrolysis or laser removal is the back and if you are African-American some clinics won't perform any procedures on you depending on how dark your skin is.
They use very small amounts of hard blue wax, and peel off strips at a time. It's MUCH less painful than your run-of-the-mill salon where it might be cheaper, but they use very low-quality wax and it hurts like @#$%.
Get the mangroomer that is shown above, they sell it at bed bath and beyond. It sucks and it is pain in the arse, but better than the back hair. Also more convenient and less painfull than waxing. Unfortunately, I know.

I'm with you, OP. I'm not Robin Williams level of hairiness, but I've got some definite coverage on the back area. I hate it so much and have considered waxing or shaving it so many times. The wife swears up and down that she likes it, though, and doesn't want me to get rid of it. So I don't...but I still hate it anyway and really wish it would just fall out one day.
