The Wolves made an offer of the number two overall pick to the Lakers for Andrew Bynum, according to a source. Minnesota has been actively shopping the number two pick in hopes of acquiring a proven veteran. http://twitter.com/#!/sam_amick
If this is true, how can LA not take it? Bynum hasn't even been able to stay on the court with them. His legs are like jell-o, this is yet another gift for them. That being said, i hope they take Jimmer #2
You want the rockets to be know for throwing elbows because they lost the game? Besides he's suspended next season...
Fisher/Bryant/Williams/Gasol/Theo? or Knight/Bryant/Artest/Gasol/Theo? they could improve 1 of their 2 weak positions with that pick, but they lose their center... til they get Dwight
If Bynum can stay healthy (and he was relatively last year), this is a steal for Kahn. Adding Bynum to Klove > Klove + Derrick Williams.
I think that's like saying Yao was relatively healthy because he lasted most of the season. It doesn't matter if he can't be there in the end. Bynum's always going to be a high risk unless his injuries are due to a core/alignment issue and it gets resolved.
Agreed that this is a no-brainer for the Lakers. Sure, Bynum is a valuable player but Kobe can't play forever. At some point you have to look to the future. Derrick Williams at the three would look VERY nice out there (unless, of course, you like watching Ron Artest go 2-11 every night). Plus, it's not like the Lakers don't have the personnel to compensate for Bynum's departure. Just slide Gasol over or sign some ring-hungry vet to plug up the middle. Do you mean to tell me after racking up millions being overpaid over the course of his career, a Sam Dalembert type wouldn't sign for the vet minimum? Plus, there's always the inevitable: why is it the Lakers historically always end up with the most dominant big's in the game? Dwight to L.A. at some point is practically an omen. And by the time that happens, I'm sure Andrew Bynum will be missing time with his 245th knee injury.
He's on their roster, and who would start over him? The only way to get Dalembert is to sign him to vet minimum since they are over the cap. I doubt they give him MLE. Or slide Gasol over to center, Lamar to PF, but their bench would suck even more without LO.
