I'm sure The Rockets feel the same way. If the player they feel is worth trading up for is gone, they won't just deal for the sake of moving up. If they move up it will be because they are REALLY high on a player which would make me kinda excited.

I assume he uses the "eye" test. But I do agree with you that Chuck is not a championship-caliber starting center; we need SIZE, something we have harped for since the yao's injury.

Sorry about the weak-sauce sentence. I edited it

But ya I guess you pull the trigger if you are really high on the player and you know that he won't slip to 14. I just feel that there will be a quality player available at 23. I'm not really buying the weak draft stuff too much. It's not top heavy, which doesn't mean that you can't find solid rotational players at 23.

Are there any stats to prove he is better at SF or is that most people here assume that b/c his overall stats rise in NBA2K11 when you switch to SF?

He's a tweener PF that makes highlight blocks and dunks.

I think he could play the 3 or the 4. I would be very hesitant to play him at the 3 if Lowry didn't become a good 3 pt shooter. Both of our guards can shoot the 3 which doesn't make it necessary for Smith to be out there by the 3 pt line.

It would be cool if someone can post his hotzones so we can assess his mid-range game. That'll be important at him being at 3 or the 4. Smith would provide the Rockets with versatility. A two-way player that can board too. He can D his man straight up and he also provides us with a weak-side shot blocker.

Although Smith isn't going to catapult this team into a championship caliber team, I'm all for it. He can add excitement to the game that we haven't had in awhile. As long as Lowry, Pat, or Martin (maybe) aren't a part of the deal, I say get it done.

Look, if Josh Smith joined this team my line up would not consist of Chuck Hayes starting at center. Hell no one's starting line up would have chuck hayes in it! I feel ya on the chuck playin hard and hustlin glue guy, but we dont need him startin at center!! Everyone know's this! Its not a secret. He scores because the opponent leaves him open. He has never stopped an opposing start big man. Just because someone normally scores 25ppg and he holds them to 21 ppg is not a huge feat lol. I know i am exaggerating on the point thing, but you get my point

I don't know folks. Smith would be a nice fit, but not sure if any thing would work. I think this draft will determine what things look like. Assuming if they trade the pick and go big, or keep picks and draft PG, C. I think Lowry, Hill and Thabeet is as good as gone if Morey pulls a trigger. Maybe even a future pick.

Maybe as the starting center but Chuck is a starting PF in this league. The Heat would have won the championship with Chuck shutting down Dirk and finishing around the rim. Joel Anthony's offense was horrendous in the Finals.

Chuck would look great at PF next to Dwight Howard. They would easily make up the best defensive front-court in the league even with Chase Budinger at the 3.

No thanks to Josh Smith. Low IQ players don't win rings. He's not supremely talented to build around.

    hahahaha

I personally get always excited about new guys, so in this case I want a high pick instead of Smith

and no way are we a championship caliber team without a true center

Chuck shutting down Dirk, I doubt it, as a 7 footer Dirk shoots right over him. Chuck is best when defending the post up, he would have a hard time stopping Dirk on the dribble without defensive support. There are very few in the league that can stop a quality player on the dribble on their own.
